The Rebirth of a Scorned Heiress

Let’s find a way to deal with her

Lily looked up to see it was her roommate, Jasmine who had made the snarky remark, “If you have a better solution why don’t you bring it out instead of delaying someone who does?” She snapped with a glare startling Jasmine and her entourage, “You!” Jasmine yelled but after getting a glare from the girl she kept quiet and turned to Mark.

“Young Master Mark, it would be better if you find someone else to help you! This girl is too poor to have anything that can help, I bet whatever she is applying will only cause more damage” Jasmine explained, her voice gentle and pretentious. With an eye roll, Lily turned back to Mark to make sure he was still cool with her using the serum.

Mark ignored Jasmine’s words and gave Lily a piercing stare, “Use it” he ordered and Lily immediately got to work, her hands trembling from the fear of the unknown.

What if this serum from an unknown origin adds to the problem? What will I do? Will I have to die again without getting my revenge?

She thought to herself in panic but her expression remained calm without betraying her thoughts. Haven being ignored, Jasmine’s face burned with shame and embarrassment.

She glared at Lily hoping the medicine would hurt the lady so she could be punished by the Watson group. Just as she completed her thoughts, the lady began to cough heavily and hold her stomach while vomiting black substances with a horrid smell.

Jasmine had a gloating look on her face and turned to mock Lily, “Are you trying to kill, Young Master’s guest out of jealousy?!” she screamed and the other people gathered stared at Lily in horror, “Did you poison her?! Confess!” she grabbed Lilly roughly and yanked her up.

Mark pursed his lips, his expression still as calm as it was when he walked in, he checked Celina’s pulse and saw that it was beating normally before letting out a silent sigh. He was not ready to face her parent’s wrath, not at a time like this anyway.

His aunty would definitely skin him alive if anything happened to her. But then again What is that black liquid?

Lily, who wasn’t sure what was happening, began to panic in her head, calling out to the system that was hiding away in the corner of her mind, “What now? What is she vomiting black liquid?” as the system heard her words it reluctantly came back out and began explaining.

{ The serum I gave you is a healing serum made by a great physician. It can heal any minor disease and wash out the toxins in the body. It is usually not free, you have to buy it with upgrade points next time so keep that one safe!}

“Then what is the black thing? Answer me quickly!” she demanded while being roughly handled by Jasmine.

{It’s the toxin in her body! Don’t worry she is fine now, nothing will happen to her! Very soon she will start coming after you for more of the serum}

Mark’s calm and gentle tone interrupted her conversation with the system, “Let her go, my cousin is ok” he announced as he held the already calm Celina in hand. Lily’s heart calmed and she swatted Jasmine’s hand away with a pointed glare, “Miss Jasmine, please watch how you treat others because you are from a more fortunate family does not mean you should always look down on others, I won’t take the disrespect next time!” she threatened and picked up her discarded purse.

“Then what is that thing she vomited? Did you poison her? Doesn’t everyone here know your evil heart? You want to leave after almost killing someone, never!” Jasmine sneered.

Lily rolled her eyes and turned to Mark, “The black thing is the toxin in her body, you should get her checked” she explained and turned to leave.

As she was about to walk away, Mark’s driver who had received a signal to stop her blocked her way, “What is the meaning of this? Can’t you see the lady is already okay? Must you rich people always throw your weight around? I only helped you. I’m sorry if you saw it as disrespect because of your narrow mind” She sneered angrily but the man remained stoic awaiting his boss’ next instruction.

An amused glint flashes through Mark’s face but it quickly disappears as he moves closer to Lily, “Allow me and my cousin to treat you to dinner as a thank-you and to apologise for the disrespect you’ve suffered because of us,” he offered calmly but earn a glare from Lily.

“I don’t need your charity. I only did what I did to help a person,” she said and sidestepped the driver as she walked out of the cafe. The driver turned to look at Mark, silently asking if he should pursue her, “Let her go. We will take Celina to the hospital for a further check-up” he instructed and the driver gave a nod.

Lily, who had just escaped the claws of death let out a sigh of relief as she rounded the corner with no one in sight, “That was exhilarating.” she breathed out and rested against the wall.

(Mission accomplished, 100 upgrade points received)

(The system will go into an upgrade mood for twelve hours, the host should relax in case there is no contact within this period)

(If the Host encounters any danger during this time, the system will activate self-protection mode and the host will be brought to safety. However, it is advised that the host stays out of danger)

(The host will be in a weakened state during this time so minimise your movement if possible, or you might collapse in the middle of the road)

Lily felt dumbfounded as she read the system’s message. She felt that her worldview had been broadened after today’s happenings.

Wasn’t the system just something in her mind?

How could it make things appear in her bag out of nowhere?

The more she thought about these things the more she wanted to know more about the system and its origins and why it had chosen her to bond with.NôvelDrama.Org owns this.

Following the system’s advice to minimise her movements, she decided to return to her room and continue practising her sketching.

The competition was drawing nearer and if she was going to join she had to win beautifully. There is no in-between or a loss.

Upon getting back to her room, she noticed none of her roommates were in and let out a sigh of relief, but then she noticed someone had gone through her things.

Her eyes dimmed in anger as she checked the things to see nothing had gone missing. She picked up her laptop to watch the recorded video from the pinhole camera she had inserted in the vase close to her bed.

Since the pinhole camera was only meant to capture her side of the bed she didn’t notice the movement on the other side but she could hear their words.

“Let’s find a way to deal with her! She’s so disrespectful!”

“Trying to show us she’s her person now that she’s no longer Merissa’s dog? Impossible!”

“Wait, I have an idea! Jasmine, you bought expensive jewellery on your trip to Paris last time, right? We can plant it in her things and report to the school council that it went missing, according to the school rules, she’ll be rusticated”

“Of course! Why have I never thought of it? That’s a good idea! Let’s pick out more things from you two and add them so they will know she’s used to stealing! Good idea!”

Lily scowled as she continued to watch them place the stolen ‘Items’ under her bed. Once she was done watching she packed all the things and placed them deep into Priscilla’s things since she had been the one who came up with the suggestion.

The door was pushed open, as Lily picked up her sketch pad. She lifts her head to see her roommates walk in with two female security officers. With a raised brow she looked at them all as if silently asking what they wanted.

Priscilla pointed to Lily while talking to the officers, “She is the one who stole it, I saw her sneaking around this morning when I came back to get something I forgot!” she reported. “Stole what?” Lily asked in confusion, pretending not to know what the other was talking about.

“I’m looking for my Jewellery and some other expensive things and Lydia is also looking for her purse, Priscilla also lost her jewellery, we’ve been staying together since we got to this school and none of our things have ever gone missing until you came last night! You have to bring them out!”Jasmine sneered.

Lily turned to the female officers with innocent eyes, “I didn’t steal their things and you can check” she suggested and got off the bed. Seeing her give room to the officers to check the three shared a look and silently giggled while throwing Lily a smirk.

Just wait, you’ll be out of this school in no time!

They thought as the officers continued checking Lily’s things, “If you wanted those things we could have given you, you didn’t have to steal at all. How much are those things, if we knew you wanted them why wouldn’t we give them to you, we all know your family’s condition isn’t good and you can’t afford the luxury. We won’t be hard on you at all” Lydia taunted.

“But now you will be thrown out of school for stealing, how pitiful!” Priscilla joined in.

Lily remained quiet while maintaining her expressionless face, after the officers had checked the whole place she reminded them to check under the bed and her three roommates snickered, excited that their plan was coming to fruition.

However, their smiles soon disappeared as the officers returned with nothing like the stolen items, “We didn’t find anything you reported missing in her property, you should apologise to your roommate for defamation” an officer suggested and the three paled.

“No way, I saw her snooping around in the morning, she must have stolen it and kept it somewhere, check again!” Priscilla urged further.

“You were here when we searched, were you not? And you saw us search every place that is marked hers. If she had taken it we would have found it!” the other officer snapped. She could tell from a glance that the three were trying to frame the poor girl but as her responsibility she had no choice but to search.

“We will search the other parts of the room. Is that okay with you?” the other officer asked.

“Yes please do!” Jasmine replied, already having a foreboding feeling about the whole place.
