Chapter 222 An Accident
“Really? Emilee, on the other hand, was saved by Amelie and me. Mr. Byron, you should not meddle in this subject.” Jeff
purposefully added to utterly anger Lamont.
Previously, Lamont would have been furious, but he had just had a conversation with Amelie and had calmed down. All content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
Lamont said nothing else and turned around to go.
Jeff looked at his hurriedly departing figure, smiled helplessly, then pushed open the door of the ward and walked in.
The filming was delayed for two days due to Emilee’s circumstances. Fortunately, Mr. Thomson did not harshly reprimand Amelie because of her strong background.
It was actually Cynthia who was unhappy and occasionally made sarcastic remarks about Amelie.
After finishing her own scene, Cynthia was about to leave when she saw Amelie arrive late.
So she deliberately walked up and stopped her way.
“Amelie, you really know how to make an entrance. Do you know that the entire crew was delayed for two days because of you?
Do you know how much money we lost?”
She said deliberately, just to make Amelie feel guilty.
At that moment, Amelie was not in the mood to have any conflict with Cynthia, so she was ready to brush past her.
Cynthia was unhappy and reached out to grab Amelie’s arm.
“Amelie, I’m talking to you. Why do you have such a disdainful attitude? Do you think you’re really that great?”
Upon hearing that, Amelie turned her head and stared at her with cold and sharp eyes.
“I gave you a chance, don’t take advantage of it. Otherwise, don’t blame me for being unpleasant.” She replied firmly before
shaking her hand and walking away.
Cynthia was dissatisfied with her arrogant behavior.
“Ms. Gladstone, don’t be angry. There’s still a scene left. Let’s do our best,”
The staffs beside her hurriedly comforted her.
Cynthia had nothing else to say.
The afternoon’s performance didn’t go very well. The sun was shining brightly during the day, and the Mr. Thomson’s face
was red from the heat.
Cynthia’s performance was decent, but Amelie’s emotions were always off.
The on–site staffs were all somewhat dissatisfied, but they dared not speak up.
“Cut!”
Mr. Thomson finally gave way to his rage and approached Amelie.
“Ms. Mullen, what’s the matter with you today? Your emotions are way off!”
When confronted with the Mr. Thomson’s questions, Amelie felt awful and instantly apologized.
“I apologize, Chris. It’s my fault. I’ll make the necessary changes as soon as possible.”
Cynthia, who was acting alongside Amelie, looked at her with a strange expression, curious about her abnormal expression.
But she couldn’t say anything directly in front of so many people.
In the end, Mr. Thomson didn’t say anything more. Luckily, Amelie’s performance finally returned to normal, and they successfully wrapped up the scene.
As they were about to lower the wire rig, a problem suddenly occurred with Cynthia’s wire.
One of the two wires snapped, leaving her suspended in mid–air.
“Aaah! Save me, hurry up, and save me!”
Cynthia was terrified and immediately called out for help from high above.
The team raced over when they heard the ruckus, and even Mr. Thomson was alarmed and hurried to the scene.
“Think of something quickly!”
Chaos had erupted on the set, and it was challenging to reel in the wire. If the other wire were to snap, it would be a disaster.
Meanwhile, Amelie was removing her makeup when she overheard the commotion outside and rushed out of the dressing
room.
“What going on?”
Amelie asked with a worried face.
“Amelie, there’s a problem with Cynthia’s wire. One wire has already snapped, and we’re trying to figure out a way to rescue her, but the situation is not good. Mr. Thomson and crew are at a loss.”
Amelie’s expression turned serious as she looked up at Cynthia, who was still suspended in mid–air.
“What are you waiting for? Come on, save her!”
Amelie became anxious and quickly rushed to the machine that controlled the wires, studying it intently.
“No, it’s not working. Don’t act rashly. If this rope breaks again, then it’s over for her.”
Mr. Thomson hurried over and wanted to intervene.
“Quick! Arrange for someone to get a bedsheet and ask several men hold it to catch Cynthia. We can’t wait any longer. Her life is at stake.”
Mr. Thomson was still hesitant, but Belen immediately reacted.
“I’m on it.”
Mr. Thomson was already extremely fearful at that point.
If something happened to the artist under his care, his career would be ruined for the rest of his life.
Amelie manipulated the machine gingerly.
By this point, Cynthia was already extremely frightened and didn’t dare to open her eyes.
She was slowly moving down, and several men below were holding a bedsheet to catch her just in case.
Cynthia successfully landed on the ground under Amelie’s control, and everyone exhaled a sigh of relief.
“God, that was terrifying.”
Many of the crew members let out a long sigh. Finally, they were able to release the tension in their hearts.
Mr. Thomson, who had already been panicked, was now pale.
“Ms. Gladstone, are you all right? Shall I get a doctor?”
Belen asked in a professional manner.
“I’m okay, thank you all. Otherwise, I would have been a goner,”
Cynthia sincerely thanked them and then looked towards Amelie, who was standing silently on the side.
She never expected that the person who saved her in the end would be Amelie, whom she had always regarded as an enemy. Now she felt guilty of her previous thoughts.
If it weren’t for her, she would have been done for.
Summoning her courage, she walked up to Amelie.
“Thank you. I didn’t expect it to be you who saved me.”
Cynthia thanked her from the bottom of her heart.
Amelie shook her head slightly and didn’t say anything. Then she turned around and left.
Belen instantly followed behind her.
Cynthia’s heart was filled with ripples after she left.
This time, she had a different view of Amelie. Her previous understanding of her was too one–sided. It turned out that she was actually a really good person.
When Amelie returned to the room, she was already exhausted and just wanted to take a shower and rest.
“Amelie, I really didn’t expect you to save her regardless of past grievances.”
“Naturally, I had to save her. Regardless of anything, she was Jeff’s childhood friend, and they had always misunderstood each
other. That was why Cynthia had always been hostile toward me. Anyway, she never hurt my life. Spare the rod and spoil the
child. Let’s not dwell on it too much.”
Amelie said calmly.
“You are just too kind, Amelie. I just hope that this time, she won’t target us again and can be grateful.”
“Idiot, I didn’t save her just because she is Cynthia. If it were anyone else, I would have saved them the same. I can’t just sit and watch a living person in danger, can I?”
Amelie said helplessly before heading right to the bathroom
