Chapter 228 Cynthia Came to Visit
“Amelie, I don’t know what went on between you two, but I think it’s good to be alive, and I always think Mr. Byron is a good person. He really cares about you, so don’t miss him.”
“Even you feel that way?”
“Certainly.”
“Forget it. I’ll be relieved as long as he is safe and sound. Anyway, we’re in the same company and will see each other often. There’s no need to make things awkward between us.”
Amelie turned around and wanted to leave, but was stopped by Belen.
“Amelie, aren’t you going in and taking a look?”
“I’d better not. I don’t want to get upset,” Amelie said bluntly, and then turned and left.
Belen wanted to call Amelie to stop, but she had already gone a long way.
Belen couldn’t do anything with them since they were still at odds with each other.
Amelie’s condition was better after she stayed in the hospital for two days, during which Chris visited her.
Fortunately, these few days, her role in the scene was not very important, so the work in the crew didn’t get delayed.
“Amelie, this show is coming to an end. Should we consider another show? Or take a break.”
Not in the mood to talk about work, Amelie didn’t respond.
After about ten minutes passed, she raised her head.
“How is the situation on Emilee’s side? Is she alright?”
Amelie was very worried about her best friend who was still in the apartment. This time she failed to help Emilee get back the photos, and she didn’t know if Emilee would be able to get out of it.
“Don’t worry, Amelie, I’ve already gone to see her, and she’s fine.”
Belen’s words reassured Amelie a bit.
Emilee, who was in the apartment, watched the news on TV and her complexion changed drastically. Although the protagonist of that news was not her, the experience was surprisingly similar to hers. She trembled with fear, then quickly picked up the remote control on the table, and quickly turned off the TV. Only in this way did she feel better.
“How did this happen? Who did the hell do this? Why?”
Emilee’s mind was full of questions.
She hadn’t offended anyone, nor had she done anything evil, but why was she put in such a position?
The more she thought about it, the more devastated she was. The pain drained her courage little by little.
Anyway, she was the daughter of the Springer family, a public figure. But it would have a great impact on her and the family if word went out.
Suddenly Emilee thought of a person, a person who would plan it.
Her eyes turned grim as she picked up the phone on the table.
In the ward, Amelie wanted to be discharged.
“Amelie, you’d better stay here for another two days. Anyway, the crew didn’t urge you. There’s no need to be in a hurry.”
“No, I’m worried about Emilee. I’m worried that something unexpected will happen.”
Amelie’s apprehension for Emilee drove her to be discharged from the hospital.
“Your assistant is right. You should take a good rest. Your health is the most important.”
A familiar voice came from behind.
Amelie quickly looked at the door and found that it was Cynthia who had walked in.
“What brings you here?”
Amelie asked in surprise, with a hint of vigilance.. This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.
“I heard that you were poisoned, so I came by to laugh at you.”
Cynthia teased deliberately.
If it was in the past, Amelie would take offense. However, for some reason, Amelie could tell from Cynthia’s expression that
she came to visit her with good intentions.
“Really? I am really embarrassed now.” Amelie laughed at herself instead of getting angry.
“Don’t be overthinking. You are taking a break in the hospital now. It’s not like you don’t know how busy the crew is.”
Cynthia walked to Amelie’s bedside while talking, and parked herself on the edge of the bed.
Amelie on the bed looked at her in surprise and curiosity.
“Ms. Gladstone, Amelie wants to…”
Belen just wanted to find an excuse to send Cynthia away, but Amelie suddenly spoke up.
“It’s nothing. You can go back to rest first. I’ll be fine on my own.”
Hearing this, Belen could only turn around and leave.
There were only the two of them left in the ward.
“I didn’t expect you to come to see me.”
Amelie said in surprise.
“It’s really interesting to think about the previous things now. You won’t take it to heart, will you?”
Cynthia asked tentatively.
“Of course not, you are Jeff’s childhood sweetheart. Do you think I will hold grudges against you?”
Amelie said with a smile, then picked up the phone, found a photo and handed it to her.
“Look what’s in here.”
Cynthia took it and looked at the content in the photo in surprise.
“This is…”
“This is what Jeff once sent to me, to introduce the relationship between you and me. Well, you guys shouldn’t be so hard on each other. Why bother? You both care about each other, but turn against each other.”
Amelie said explicitly.
“I didn’t expect you to know that. I had been with him for many years, but now he has no affection for me at all, and we can never go back to days when we were childhood sweethearts.”
After Cynthia finished speaking, her eyes dimmed.
“How do you know he doesn’t care about you?”
Amelie asked seriously.
“Stop joking. How could he care about me? He’s all about you now.”
Cynthia still didn’t believe it.
“Then we can give it a try. How about it?” Amelie said mysteriously.
“How?”
Lamont still hadn’t woken up until now, but the doctor said that he was in a better condition.
Amelie would go to the door of the ward to see him every day and felt more at ease when she found he was safe and sound.
Although Amelie didn’t say anything about Lamont, Belen could tell that Lamont mattered a lot in her heart.
“Amelie, you can discharge from the hospital today. What should we do to Mr. Byron?”
“Anyway, the shoot in the crew hasn’t started yet. I’m here to take care of him.”
Belen was very surprised.
“Amelie, how can this work? If someone ill–intentioned sees you, this will go online.”
Belen was right, but Amelie couldn’t bother to think about these things now.
“He saved me from danger. Isn’t it reasonable for me to take care of him here? Let’s put off the work for now. I just don’t want
to work either.”
Amelie had made up her mind.
Seeing her resolute attitude, Belen had some misgivings.
“Amelie, Mr. Byron will definitely get better, so don’t worry too much. Maybe he’ll wake up in two days,” Belen comforted.
“You’re right. I think so. Maybe he will wake up soon.”
