The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning

Chapter 1109

Chapter 1109

Kai noticed Lana’s upset stomach and chatted more to distract her, gently rubbing her abdomen.

Lana, sitting on his lap, felt much better. “Don’t stop talking,” she said.

“I tried to stop him last night,” Kai said. “Had I been late, Yvonne might not have made it here today.”

“He wanted to kill her? Why? Yvonne’s his ex-wife. That’s horrible!”

Kai grinned. “Wife? He saw her as just a tool. I thought Zach was tough, like he couldn’t love anyone. But now, he’s got a soft spot. Just talking about Maddie made him think twice. The old Zach would’ve been way harsher with the Youngs.”

Lana was amazed. “I never knew he was that scary. It must be tough being with him, but why did you help her get better?”

Kai stopped writing and pinched Lana’s cheek gently. “You’re really smart, figuring things out quickly.”

Lana’s cheeks turned pink. “No teasing, okay? Just tell me what’s up.” Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.

“Last night, I chatted with Yvonne about Ethan. I think she’s hiding

something about the plane crash. She might know if Ethan’s still

around.”

“How did you find out, if she didn’t want to talk?”

Kai stared off, looking clever. “We’ve got to take things step by step.”

The next day, Kai checked Yvonne’s health reports. Everything looked

good, so he got ready for her surgery.

Kai, holding the surgery tool, said, “We’ll fix your problem slowly, over six months. The nurses should’ve told you all about it before the

surgery.”

Yvonne nodded. “I understand. Whether the surgery is successful or not, I won’t let you down.”

Kai smiled behind his mask. “I’m the only one who can perform this surgery, but I have certain demands before starting the procedure.”

Lying on the operating table, Yvonne nodded at him. “Alright, whatever your requests are, I’ll agree to them after the surgery.”

“You’d better keep your word.”

The two-hour surgery was not difficult for Kai. He carefully smoothed out the scars on her face with his sharp scalpel. If Yvonne followed the post-operative instructions, her face would not scar.

After the anesthesia took effect, Yvonne lost consciousness. Upon waking, she found her face wrapped in gauze, leaving only her mouth exposed for eating.

Kai handed a prescription to the nurse, who hesitated. “Dr. Stewart,

are you sure about this medication? Isn’t this…”
