Chapter 234
In the parking lot, Finn shouted, "Felix!"
Finn strode over to Felix and stopped him before he could get into the car. Being the eldest brother, Finn thought it was his responsibility to mediate between his siblings.
He said. "I know you've admired Lonely Bird for a long time. You don't want to give up. Yvette didn't handle it well. After I finish my work at the end of the year, I'll go with you to apologize to Lonely Bird"
Felix's face softened a bit. He said. "Finn, I'll apologize to Lonely Bird. You have nothing to do with it."
Then Felix paused looking like he was hesitating about something.
Finn said. "If you're worried about anything, just tell me. We're brothers. There's nothing we can't share with each other."
Felix breathed a sigh of relief and glanced back at the room. He said coldly, "Do you think I was too hard on Yvette this time?
Finn didn't answer it right away.
Felix continued, "Yes, we only have one younger sister. We've been doing on her since we were little. No matter what mistakes she made, we would forgive her unconditionally as long as we didn't have to compromise our principles. "But this time, I can't convince myself to forgive her."
Felix exhaled deeply and frowned.
Felix added, "I know I shouldn't blame it on Yvette. She's kind-hearted and always cares about others. Actually, I failed to protect Dr. Lonely Bird. It's my fault.
"But while I blame myself for it, I can't help but wonder if Yvette was really blameless.
"Yes, I felt a mix of emotions back then. I was shocked and torn, unable to hold firm to my beliefs. But when everyone was pressuring Lonely Bird to admit it, Yvette betrayed her too."
Felix's face showed a mix of complex emotions. He said, "If she truly had a kind heart and cared for Lonely Bird, she shouldn't have said that. She should have waited for the hospital and the police to find out the truth.NôvelDrama.Org content.
"She shouldn't have accused Lonely Bird of it like the overbearing Banks family so readily!
"I know I ought to stand by Yvette without any hesitation, like Mom and Grandma, and forgive her little slip-ups. But I just can't convince myself!"
Felix looked up at Finn and asked blankly, "Finn, am I wrong to blame Yvette, or is it's really Yvette fault?"
Seeing that Felix was emotional, Finn was momentarily dazed, looking at his unfocused eyes.
Finn and his brothers didn't look very much alike. But at that moment, Finn thought he was having an illusion.
He felt like the one who was questioning him was not Felix but Mitchell, who had been missing for so long-
Finn exhaled deeply.
He thought, 'How did this happen?
After a long silence, he said, while being expectantly looked at ly Felix, "Felix, you're right. It's Werte's fault. Mom and Dad just care too much about her so they cannot blame her." 07:45 Sat, Nov 9
Hearing this, Felix felt sudden sense of relief.
He broke into a smile with relief. "Thank you, Finn."
Finn raised his hand and put it firmly on Felix's shoulder, pressing it down hard.
Finn said, "Although we're siblings, we should help and trust each other unconditionally most of the time. But sometimes, we should figure out what is right and what is wrong. We cannot just tolerate everything. You have your principles. I understand that. "If you can't find peace of mind, apologize to Dr. Lonely Bird. Her forgiveness might make you feel better."
With Finn's encouragement, Felix felt confident and determined
Felix nodded firmly. "Alright!"
After their sincere conversation, Finn and Felix got into their cars and left the parking lot.
In a corner that they never shot a glance at, Yvette, who had found an excuse to follow behind them, was hiding. She walked behind the shadows and watched the two cars drive out of the parking lot with a sullen faces and coldly glittering eyes. Rebecca asked, "Yvette? Where's Felix?"
She walked to Yvette.
Yvette's expression changed quickly. She turned to Rebecca with a cheerful smile. "Felix is out. I apologized to him and he said he forgave me. He's not angry with me? Rebecca said, "Really?"
Rebecca relaxed and smiled but then she noticed that Yvette's expression seemed weird.
Yvette's smile didn't look convincing at all.
Rebecca frowned, "Yvette, are you lying to me?"
Yvette looked panicked immediately. She quickly looked away. "Mom, I didn't..."
Rebecca reached out to gently lift Yvette's chin. She rubbed Yvette's cheeks softly, trying hard to hold back her tears.
She felt sad. "If Felix has forgiven you, why are you still crying?"
Yvette trembled and tears once again fell down her face uncontrollably.
Quickly, she threw herself into Rebecca's arms again. She cried like she was a child who didn't get her treat. "Mom, does Felix hate me? Will he never love me again?"
Rebecca said, "Nonsense! Felix loves you so much. He always thinks of you whenever he gets something nice. How could he not love you?"
Listening to her daughter's muffled crying, Rebecca felt heartbroken. A large part of her shirt above her breast was wet by
Yvette's tears.
She said, "Felix is just a little bit confused right now. Don't worry about him. Once he figures everything out, things will be fine!"
Yvette said, "Really?"
Rebecca said, "Of course. No matter what kind of person Lonely Bird is, she's not a family. You're Felix's sister. We'll always 07:45 Sat, Nov 9
be a family!"
Rebecca held Yvette's face and gently wiped away her tears. "If Felix still blames you, I'll scold him. How could he help someone outside of the family? He should know who he truly ought to support!" Yvette sniffled, feeling deeply moved by Rebecca's words. "Mom, I'm so happy you are still by my side."
Rebecca said, "You're my one and only precious daughter. If I don't stand by you, who will?"
Rebecca patted Yvette's back. "Stop crying. Let's go shopping. I'll get you some pretty clothes. My darling daughter will stand
out with or without the reality show!"
Yvette said. "Yeah."
