The Woman From Hell



Out of concern for Nina, I dare not leave her alone at the hospital. So I temporarily handed company matters over to Shannon. I copied some important documents to my laptop and reviewed them while accompanying Nina.

"You don't actually need to be here. I'll be fine," Nina said when she saw that I was busy.

I looked at her and smiled slightly. "It's okay. I know how lonely it is to be alone in the hospital. I will accompany you."

Hearing this, she lowered her head, her eyes seemingly hiding some sentimentality. "Are you afraid that I still haven't gotten over it?" she asked in a faint, soft voice.

My heart skipped a beat. I felt guilty that she could guess it, but I kept a calm expression. Nina's emotions were still out of control. If I told her this frankly, it might aggravate her symptoms.

Thinking of this, I shook my head a few times. "I just don't want you to be bored in the hospital. When I was hospitalized after giving birth, I really wanted someone to accompany me. Now that you are in the hospital, of course, I have to accompany you.

I wrapped the back of her hand with my own and smiled lightly. "You haven't contacted your family for so many days. Why don't you call them now?" Jason mentioned Nina needed to always feel the warmth of her family so that she could untie the knot of conflict faster.

Nina froze for a moment when I proposed that. She was a little hesitant.

I held her mobile phone in front of her. "Call them. Tell them the good, omit the bad and let your family feel at ease." "Okay." At my persuasion, Nina finally agreed.

I went back to my seat after she accepted the phone and went on to process the documents without disturbing her warm time with her family. While Nina was on the call with her family, I could see her mood gradually relaxed, and a smile appeared on her little face occasionally.

This was good. At least this would remind Nina that her parents were still waiting for her.

After she hung up the call, I walked over. "How did it go?"

Nina's expression changed slightly, and her tone took on a suspicious edge. "Is he a doctor?"

Before I could reply, Jason introduced himself. "Yes, I'm a psychiatrist. That's why I was called here last night. I came here today to..."
