Chapter 253

Chapter 253 I’m Afraid You’ll Misunderstand

When Alec was done explaining, Jenny asked nonchalantly, “I just asked where she was. Why are you telling me so much?”

“I’m afraid you’ll misunderstand,” Alec admitted with a wry smile.

Never had Jenny imagined that there was a timid side to the dignified Mr. Faust. “Well, it’s not like we have anything to do with each other, so there’s no need to explain to me,” she replied.

Before Alec could say otherwise, they arrived at their destination, so he had no chance to speak his mind.

“We’re here.”

They got out of the car and headed to the exhibition together. Jenny had rejected the idea of going to the movies with Alec to avoid being misunderstood by others. However, as they walked into the venue, many people looked at them. From the looks on their faces, they recognized Alec. Jenny regretted her decision. She wished she had worn a mask. 1

“Mr. Faust.” Soon, someone came up to say hello to him, seeming rather curious about Jenny. “Is this…. your girlfriend?”

“No, not yet.” Alec’s answer intrigued their curiosity as it alluded that she might become his girlfriend in the future. As a result, they began to look at her in a different light.

Glaring at him angrily, Jenny announced, “I’ll go over there to have a look first. You guys carry on.”

Without waiting for Alec to reply, she marched to a nearby exhibit and began studying the work. After visiting several exhibits, nothing caught her eye. She had come hoping she could scout talented

designers as her company didn’t have any. It appeared that she had been too hopeful.

“How is it? See anything you like?” Alec asked, suddenly appearing beside her.

Turning around, Jenny was surprised to see that he had a mask on.

“You-”

“No one will recognize me like this. It was hard enough for me to bring you out, so I don’t want to be disturbed.” The man who had approached him to say hello had greatly annoyed him.

Although hearing that brought her a warm, fuzzy feeling, it could not tame her sharp tongue. “Well, it’s your fault for being the famous Mr. Faust. Everywhere you go, someone will know you.”

“I already admitted that I was wrong. Can you stop making fun of me?” Alec grumbled, thinking that Jenny was really ruthless to him.

Jenny smiled silently and continued to look at the displays. Alec followed behind her quietly, buying everything Jenny liked without hesitation. In his opinion, the one thing he didn’t lack was money. Just like that, they spent the entire afternoon together.

When they left the venue, it was already dark outside. As Alec opened the car door, he asked Jenny, “Shall we go grocery shopping?”

“Okay.” Jenny nodded before she changed her mind. “Actually, since it’s already so late, let me treat you to dinner.” Considering how Alec had spent the entire afternoon walking around the exhibition with her, he must have been exhausted. It would be burdensome for him to go grocery shopping and cook after returning home.

“Don’t worry, it’s fine. Let’s eat at home. That’ll be healthier,” he insisted, already inside the car.Property belongs to Nôvel(D)r/ama.Org.

Healthier?

Given Alec’s lack of work-life balance, Jenny doubted he had any consideration for his own health.

Nonetheless, she decided he could tire himself out since that was what he wanted. With that, she got into the car, and Alec drove to the nearest supermarket.
