Chapter 1992
Chapter 1992
Gary felt a little helpless upon being teased. He just chuckled and said, "I turned gentle and got kinder to you, but what do I get from that? You are making fun of me. What kind of logic is that?"
Maria smiled and said, "Gary, I am complimenting you. I'm not making fun of you."
"If I can't tell the difference between mockery and praise, then I would have been living for nothing throughout all these years." Naturally, Gary would not hold back. He had always had a sharp tongue, so he would use it too.
Maria knew that his gentle side would not stay for long. In the end, he would still accidentally show his true colors.
She sighed and said, "Oh, okay, I am just happy for you. Gary, for you and Celeste, I hope that the two of you can be happy and good forever."
Upon mentioning that, Gary's expression became dazed. After a brief moment of thought, he nodded and said, "Of course, the same goes for you and Liam."
"We'll do our best," Maria immediately said, "Ernest and Leah, you and Celeste, as well as Liam and I should all continue to be happy." Gary only nodded.
"Let us have dinner together at seven o'clock. There is still around an hour left. I will go upstairs first."
He said, "Okay, see you at seven."
With that, everyone went upstairs.
Maria and Liam returned to the guest room. Maria immediately turned towards Liam and said, "Now, you can be at ease that there is no problem between them."
When Liam heard that, he frowned and felt a little helpless. He thought that Maria had misunderstood him. He explained quickly, "What do you mean by that? Does it look like I was very worried?"
"Haha, I was worried too." Maria immediately laughed. "But I'm more jealous, especially because of Celeste. I always see you caring for Celeste, and I can't help but to feel jealous. Don't take it to heart."
Liam looked down at her and sighed. "So, it seems like you still don't fully trust me."
"It's not that I don't trust you, but a girl like me, who has succeeded after chasing after a celebrity, will sometimes have zero sense of security. I always feel that if happiness came too suddenly, and I will lose it one day." Maria said in selfmockery, "This is normal, Mr. Liam."
Liam leaned forward, pressed her against the wall, looked down at her, and stuck closely to Maria's body. His slender fingers propped Maria's chin. "What did you call me?"
"I called you mister." Maria smiled. "You are older than me. It's not wrong for me to call you that."
"I still like the nickname you gave me earlier better."
"What?" Maria was playing dumb.
Of course she would not call him 'hubby'. That was for fun and games in the bedroom. She only called him that when she lost control herself. She was still rational then, so how could she be that silly?
Liam could tell that she was playing dumb and was purposely not admitting it. He also knew that she could be shy at times too, so, he stopped teasing her.
He only lowered his head and gently kissed her lips, then he said, "I will be going back to the production crew tomorrow. Will you come with me?"
"Of course, I am your agent now. I have to be with the crew, and there's nothing wrong for me to be there." Maria felt that with her newfound title as his agent, she could do whatever she wanted without being discovered.
However, Liam only looked at her and said, "I feel very happy that you are coming with me, but I am also worried about you."
"Why?" Maria was puzzled.
"You have been back home for so many days, but you haven't gone home yet. You haven't accompanied Uncle and Madam Attwood. You have only been staying with me, and for such a long time too. I'm afraid that they will say that I'm not sensible." Liam had to worry about that. Maria was young. As he was a little older than her, he had to be more considerate for her.
"I see," Maria muttered. "Now that you mention it, it does feel like I haven't been home for quite some time."
To be honest, Maria did feel quite guilty when she thought of her grandmother who called earlier and their conversation.
She looked at Liam and said, "Then, are you going back to the crew yourself?"
When Liam heard that, he looked at Maria and asked, "Do you want to go home?"
It was obvious that he was a little reluctant.
However, when he thought of how she should go back to accompany her family, he still pretended to be calm. He would be the one who was going to be lovesick.
"Well, I thought about your proposal just now. I think maybe I should go home," Maria said. She looked at Liam's handsome face, and she was deliberately saying that so that she could see his desperate face.
Sure enough, she saw the complicated emotions in Liam's eyes when she said she was going home.
He wanted her to stay, but he couldn't stop her from going home.
Maria felt much more comfortable at the sight of that.
She felt helpless and embarrassed about playing such an evil joke.Property of Nô)(velDr(a)ma.Org.
"Then, go back." Liam suppressed the urge to take her away with him. "You should spend some time with them for a few days, then only come meet at at the crew after that."
"Then how many days should I go home for? Three days, five days, or should I stay for a week?" Maria asked.
"Three or five days? A week?" When he heard how long it would take, he felt a little hesitant. "In fact, it won't take five days, let alone a week. You can go back and stay with them for just two or three days." "Won't that be too short?" Maria deliberately pretended like she was thinking about it and then said solemnly, "If I go back, my parents will definitely not let me leave before the Spring Festival."
When Liam heard that, he was stunned.
He did not expect that to be the outcome. If Maria couldn't get to leave her house, then didn't that mean he would not get to see her for days?
That was not the result which Liam wanted.
Their relationship was finally stable, and he was used to having Maria by his side. He was also used to her tenderness and sweetness.
If she was not with him, he would really fall into a bad state.
"I think Uncle is a reasonable person. He has encouraged you to be with me before. I don't think he will ground you." Liam comforted himself and Maria. "It's not going to be as serious as you think."
"However, what if my parents really
don't want me to go to the crew?" Maria said, "After all, when I went
knew
that I was going to the crew. This three
home the last time, they
用
time, I only stay for two or
days after I return, they will start
having bad impressions of it. Don't you think so?"
"Then, what should we do?" He looked at Maria with great concern.
Maria blinked, her eyes were sly. "So, the best way is not to go home but to go directly to the crew. I will go home to accompany them during the Spring Festival's holidays."
Liam looked at Maria in a daze, he could not come back to his senses for a long time.
Maria laughed, she placed her hands around his neck and said, "How could you do that? The only reason I came back is because I want to be with you. I want to be with you anytime and anywhere, yet you asked me to go back and accompany my parents.
Of course I know that my parents
are important, but they can
accompany each other. My parents can accompany grandma, and
there's even the baby in mom's
womb However, you are all alone, and no one is going to be there with you. Accompanying you is the right choice to make."
He looked at Maria and felt a sense of sweetness and warmth in his heart.
He stared at Maria, then, he lowered his head and kissed her.
Maria immediately gasped, she said, "Don't do that. We have to eat later." "There's still over an hour left before that. We have time," Liam said.
The moment he finished speaking, Liam picked Maria up and walked to the bedside.
Not long after, the two of them were entangled on the bed.
In the room at the end of the corridor.
Gary returned to his room and he saw that Celeste was still sound asleep. So, he lay down beside her. After taking a short nap, he was in good spirits. In fact, he was not in the mood to sleep at all.
He propped himself up with his arms and looked at Celeste's face while she was asleep.
Celeste slept quite well. She woke up at about half past six. When she opened her eyes, what she saw was the handsome face of Gary. He was staring at her with gentle and loving eyes.
Celeste was stunned. She immediately reached out and touched Gary's handsome face.
He allowed Celeste to touch him, he did not say anything.
Celeste caressed his cheeks, and her red lips curled into a smile. "Did you not rest at all just now?"
"I had a short nap," Gary said.
"You've lost weight." Celeste touched his cheek gently. "Your cheeks are not plump anymore. It's all bones, which I can feel through your thin layer of
skin."
"Oh?" Gary smiled. "Do you like it when I am more thick skinned?"
"Yes." Celeste nodded.
"Then I'll be more thick-skinned in the future. Miss Celeste, can you not be angry with me anymore in the future?" He took the opportunity to ask a
punny question.
Celeste paused for a moment, and her long eyelashes fluttered slightly. "Will you do anything bad? If not, why should I be angry?"
