True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz)

Chapter 2112

Chapter 2112

Meanwhile, at the Jones family home.

After Sylvia and Claudia arrived, the both of them retired to Sylvia's room to wash up and change.

Claudia asked, "Would your parents be mad if I stay over with you?"

"Are you really afraid of what others say?" Sylvia asked cheekily.

She was ecstatic, and her previous sadness was gone. She was her energetic and lively self again.

Claudia shrugged her shoulders and burst out laughing when she saw the quick-witted Sylvia tilting her head and looking at her.

"No way. I was merely asking." Claudia's eyes lit up with a sly glint. "Let's talk for a bit before we go to bed. Seeing how excited you are, I don't think you're sleepy at all. Hence, I shall make the huge sacrifice of forgoing my sleep to talk."

"Am I excited, or are you?" Sylvia asked.

"You, of course. Look at how red your face is. What did you do to Kendrix just now?" Claudia sensed that Sylvia was a lot more excited than normal, and she seemed surrounded by an aura of

love.

Something must have happened.

Especially since she was so shy when Claudia asked her to speak to Kendrix.

"Nothing," Sylvia replied, shaking her head immediately. "What could I possibly do to him at school? Furthermore, he's a teacher and a cop. You know what he's capable of. Plus, I don't think I can ever get close to him."

"But from what I see, I feel like you've done something." Claudia looked at Sylvia up and down. "Don't hide it from me. I'm literally your fairy godmother."

"Nothing!" Sylvia repeated, shaking her head again. "I didn't do anything except tell him that he couldn't be with any other woman for five years. That's the condition he set if I got first place, and I just claimed my prize."

Claudia leaned back, spreading her arms out. "I'm sure he's very happy and impressed that you got first place in such a short time."

Sylvia shook her head. "I don't think so."

"Not everyone can get first place," Claudia pointed out. "Well, at least I didn't get first place when I was in school."

"I haven't ever gotten it before. It's always been my brother who got first place. He must have let me win this time. Otherwise, I wouldn't be able to beat him."

Claudia leaped out of bed as soon as she heard that, her eyes full of intrigue. "Your brother is a genius?"

"Don't tell me that you want to gossip about Sebastian," Sylvia said warily. She could not help thinking that Claudia seemed like a hungry animal while Sebastian was her prey.

"Well, let's do that then!"

Claudia felt no shame about her intentions.

"I've already made it so obvious, so tell me everything about your brother," Claudia said.

Sylvia was floored by Claudia's response.

She used to be the little devil at home, spying on her brothers. She had thought that she was shameless enough.

Of course, she never thought of herself as shameless, just cunning.

She never expected Claudia to be even more shameless than she was.

"Sebastian? He has always been a quiet person. Other than being a genius, there's nothing special about him. Honestly, he's kind of boring. Oh yes, he does love to spend time with my mom." "So, he's the gentle and caring type," Claudia

mused.

"Well, he's only ever gentle to my mom. He's extremely fierce toward me," Sylvia said.

"I don't think so!" Claudia disagreed right away, and she proceeded to break it down for Sylvia. "Sebastian went to see Kendrix over what happened with you, you know? Honestly, I envy you. All of them care about you so much, and they're willing to come to blows over you."

"Did they have a fight?" Sylvia was stunned.

"Didn't you see any scars on Kendrix's face?" Claudia asked, puzzled.

Sylvia's mind went blank. She did not remember seeing any injuries on Kendrix's face.

She shook her head uncertainly. "I don't really recall seeing any."

Although she had looked at Kendrix up close, her eyes did not wander from his eyes. As she thought about it now, she did not seem to recall seeing any wounds on Kendrix's face.

"My brother is injured, but not Mr. Trevino." Sylvia confirmed.

"Oh, then that means that Kendrix had the upper hand. Well, your brother could have hit Kendrix somewhere else and not his face," Claudia said. "Oh."

Sylvia was filled with worry once Claudia said that.

"He must be injured elsewhere. Ah, I've been too careless. I didn't ask Mr. Trevino about his injuries even after seeing Gary's injuries." Sylvia felt guilty.

Did Sylvia even deserve to be in the police force? Sylvia wondered.

At the time, she only cared about making her claim and not about whether Kendrix was all right.

Sylvia was disappointed with herself.

As her frustration grew, Sylvia looked even more regretful.

Claudia chuckled. "Wow. Women are truly idiots in love. Your own brother was heavily injured, and yet you're here caring about another man?"

"Well, it's not like you care about Mr. Trevino either. You only have eyes for Sebastian. Doesn't that make you an idiot as well?" Sylvia fired right back. Claudia laughed. "You're really good at debating, aren't you? Okay, let's not fight anymore. Relax, Kendrix is fine."

"I hope he is." Sylvia prayed that Kendrix would be all right.

Claudia and Sylvia talked about Sebastian all night, but Sylvia had her mind on Kendrix at the same time.

Claudia was probably tired since she fell asleep on the bed after a while.

However, Sylvia could not fall asleep.

She was naturally a very energetic person, and she would eavesdrop on others whenever she could not sleep. Alas, she did not feel like doing so anymore.

Sylvia took out her phone, wanting to call Kendrix.

However, she was worried she would come across as a clingy little girl if she called Kendrix right after they parted.

What would Kendrix think of Sylvia if she did so? Sylvia wondered.

She felt that Kendrix was looking for the kind of love that lasted for a lifetime.

Therefore, Sylvia put down the phone after a long internal struggle.

She did not want Kendrix to think of her as a childish little girl who only needed love.

What she wanted was to be his equal.

Well, she was not able to do that in terms of age.

Sylvia slept rather late that night, but she woke up early the next morning.

After getting dressed, she glanced at the sleeping Claudia before she left the room.

She went to the third floor to look for Gary.

A hoarse voice answered after she knocked on his door.

"Gary, it's me," Sylvia called out.

"Sylvia?" Gary sounded a little impatient.

"Yeah. I've come to check on you, and I've brought you some antiseptic for your wounds," Sylvia said.

There was no sound in the room. After a few seconds, the door opened.

Gary stood at the door and looked at her, who was trying her best to get back into his good books. "Don't you think it's a little late for that?"

"You're right. But I wasn't home earlier, right?"

Gary knew that Sylvia had left the house.

He did not reply.

"Gary, may I come in?" Sylvia giggled. "I'm afraid that Mom might hear us if we chat so early in the morning."

Gary snorted and turned to walk into the room.

Sylvia followed him inside and closed the door behind them.

"What is it? I can see you have something on your mind," Gary said. He could sense that Sylvia was planning something from miles away.

"What are you talking about, Gary? You make me sound like I have ulterior motives."

"Am I wrong?" Gary asked.

Sylvia knew that Gary was not in the

best mood. She knew a little bit about why Celeste had left so

suddenly the previous night. However, she had not had the time to care about Gary as she had been

feeling sad. After knocking on Gary's door early in the morning and finding him awake, Sylvia knew that he was feeling sad as well. NôvelDrama.Org owns all © content.

There was still some blood at the corner of Gary's mouth.

It seemed that the fight he had with Kendrix last night was serious.

"Gary, you haven't slept all night, have you? Your eyes are bloodshot, so please take care of yourself," Sylvia muttered.

That was the first time Gary had heard Sylvia being so polite to him.

Gary felt that it was a little strange. He looked at Sylvia, sizing her up.

Sylvia allowed Gary to study her.

Then, Gary said, "If you want to ask me about Kendrix, I can tell you that he's probably injured somewhere on his torso."

Sylvia narrowed her eyes. She knew that she could not hide her intentions from Gary, but she still cared about him.

"I punched him several times in the stomach yesterday." Gary smiled at that, but it quickly turned into a wince as he accidentally pulled on the wound

by his lips.

Sylvia was anxious. She was dying to ask him more, but she did not know how since Gary was injured as well.

Tears welled up in her eyes as she said, "Gary..."

"Sylvia, you have good taste." Gary smiled, comforting his sister. "At least in terms of physical qualities Kendrix passes the test. He's quite skilled, but he's a very cold sort of man. You might have a hard time being with him."

Sylvia was upset when she heard that. "Gary, I'll treat your wounds for you."

It turned out that Gary had fought Kendrix only to test him. It warmed the cockles of her heart when she thought of everything that her brothers had

done for her.

Sylvia hurriedly opened the bottle of antiseptic and applied it on Gary's wounds.

Gary did not object.

He had not disinfected the wounds last night because he was in no mood to do so.

As Sylvia applied the antiseptic to his wounds, she felt even more guilty.

"Don't be sad. I'm not dead yet," Gary piped up when he saw her teary eyes.

"Stop talking," Sylvia growled.

On one hand, she was touched that

he was concerned about her. On the other hand, she felt sorry for Gary.

He must have not slept for adong time after he argued with Celeste.

"I know what I'm doing. Kendrix is fine, and so am I," Gary said.

"How about you and Celeste?" Sylvia asked.

Gary stiffened immediately.

Sylvia paused for a moment before continuing to apply the antiseptic.

"It's what she wants. All I can do is set her free."
