Twisted Ties of Love

Chapter 329

Chapter 329

Izabella found herself no longer hesitating, "Mr. Dempsey, would you mind moving? I need to get off the plane."

Casey obediently shifted aside, watching as Izabella headed towards the exclusive passageway. He hurriedly followed her, chattering incessantly from behind.

"Where are you going after getting off the plane? Are you heading straight to the hotel arranged by the director? I'm heading there too. Do you have a lot of luggage? I can get my agent to help you..."

Seth was like, I'm an agent, not some grunt assistant. And even if I were your assistant, it's not to help you chase girls.

Izabella kept moving forward without missing a beat, simply saying dismissively, "Your fans are waiting for you outside. I don't want to get too close to you."

Casey felt a pang. For the first time, he regretted being so famous. Why did he ever step into the entertainment industry? Because a voice kept echoing in his head. He wanted to stand out, make a certain girl notice him.

He hadn't understood his strange desire at first. But now, looking at Izabella, he realized only a truly strong person who didn't care about others' opinions could stand beside her.

He shouldn't be too anxious... or it might put Izabella off.

Casey could only remind himself silently, before reluctantly stopping and watching Izabella descend the passageway.

"Did my schedule get leaked?" He asked Seth behind him.

"Yeah, word got out. It's pretty inevitable, considering everyone knew you'd be in R City for a show recording. So, your fans have been camping out at the airport non-stop."

Casey frowned, feeling uncomfortable. He only cared about his film's outcome. From day one, his life's plan was to be a good actor. Yet, he ended up being so famous.

He didn't understand his fans, nor had he ever bothered with them...

"Tell them not to pick me up at the airport in the future."

Airport pick-ups were a regular fan-organized activity, but Casey's schedule was secretive and rushed. One of his fans had been admiring him for two years, yet hadn't managed to capture a clear picture of him.

Casey didn't like the idea of a crowd coming to meet him. He saw it as unnecessary, not to mention the congestion it caused in public areas. Original from NôvelDrama.Org.

Seth nodded. "I'll let your fans know later." But whether they'd listen was beyond his control.

His reminder could only have a guiding effect. Each person's mind was uncontrollable, with their independent consciousness and thinking ability. If they din't listen to their parents, how would they listen to him?

But Casey's next words left Seth dumbfounded.

"If the airport gets congested because of them, call the police."

Casey kept his gaze on Izabella until her figure disappeared from sight. Only then did he start to descend.

He asked as he walked, "Didn't you say Izabella didn't recognize me and that's why she didn't flirt with me? I took off my sunglasses, even added her on WhatsApp, but she still didn't flirt with me. Is it because I'm not famous enough, or I'm not attractive enough, or my body doesn't measure up to others? Or maybe my voice is not pleasant enough?"

Seth, too, was puzzled. He thought Casey's face was irresistible. But Izabella not only didn't flirt with him, she didn't even spare him an extra glance.

The internet was rife with rumors about her flirting with male artists. This was a golden opportunity to create rumors, with Casey's fans adoring him. All Izabella needed to do was descend with him, and she'd be instantly famous.

Still unsatisfied after asking once, Casey turned to Seth, his eyes cold and intimidating.

"Why isn't she flirting with me? This is such a good opportunity for her."

"How would I know?" Seth thought to himself, and what was that disappointed, childlike expression of yours. Was that because you were so eager to be flirted with?

"She might be doing this on purpose," Seth finally voiced his thoughts, "to get your attention. She probably wouldn't be able to resist on the show later."

"Really?" Casey didn't believe Seth, especially since his words didn't sound like good news.

"Yes, really. Don't worry, you'll have plenty of time with her in the future."

Casey seemed satisfied this time.

Seeing Casey's infatuation with Izabella, Seth felt even more depressed. Casey was completely smitten, and all Seth could do was pray that Izabella wouldn't take an interest in Casey.

Izabella left the airport without any issues and instead of heading back to the hotel, she went straight to the bolognese pasta place near her school.

She hadn't been to that little restaurant in a long time and thought she had forgotten the taste. But the moment she smelled the aroma wafting from the room, it stirred up her taste buds.

Izabella walked in and found her usual spot.

She wasn't a big eater, so she ordered a small portion. The owner was still as hospitable as ever.

"Your bolognese pasta is ready."

"Thank you," Izabella replied.

"Delicious." She noticed the owner staring at her in a daze.

Caught in the act, the owner laughed awkwardly, "Sorry, you just remind me of someone."

Izabella's first thought was that the owner had seen her on the internet.

She felt uneasy, remembering how she used to come here for the bolognese pasta and how kind the owner had been. She didn't want to leave a bad impression.

Izabella, a sentimental person, remembered the kindness shown to her.

She had often imagined, if she had a mother, she would be just like the owner, worrying about her health, secretly adding extra bolognese or chicken to her bowl when she looked thin, reminding her not to starve, to dress warmly when the weather turned cold.

The owner had a nostalgic look on her face, her expression soft. "You look like a young girl who used to come here for meals. She was as beautiful as you, loved the bolognese pasta, and was as thin..."

She spoke softly, "The girl hasn't been here for a long time now. I wonder how she's doing elsewhere, if she's healthy, if she's lost weight."
