Chapter 31 Mr. James Is Like Her Father
Chapter 31 Mr. James Is Like Her Father
Although Sophia had never seen James, she heard a lot about him. When he went into the ward, she
already suspected that if he was James, the president of SA Group and her future son-in-law.
But when she heard Kara called his name proudly, she was still shocked.
James had a good figure. He was tall and extraordinarily handsome. With a noble temperament, he
looked domineering and indifferent.
But she would be his mother-in-law. Why didn't he flatter her?
"Hello, Mr. James. What a coincidence! I'm Kathleen's mother. Kara is sick. I'm worried about her, and I Content rights belong to NôvelDrama.Org.
cooked soup for her."
"Do you know what's in the soup?"
Sophia was puzzled at his question. She had said she was Kathleen's mother, why did he still talk with
her in such a cold voice?
"Of course, I know. I picked the ingredients myself. It took me two hours to cook it," Sophia said with
confidence.
James sneered.
With a snort, he said, "Then, surely you know the effect of the soup!"
Sophia face froze. What James had said was meaningful. Did he know her intentions?
"James, you and Kathleen will get engaged soon. Kathleen has been talking about you these days,"
Sophia said. To change the topic and remind James of who she was, Sophia called his name kindly.
However, James didn't care about her at all. He continued, "Kara is important to me. Ms. Sophia, you
are an elder. You better not go too far!"
As he said with a scary tone, Sophia was freaked out and took a few steps back. Her face was pale.
Seeing her guilty look, Will threw the lunch box and the soup in it into the trash can in disgust.
"You must have spent a lot of money on it. Ms. Sophia, I advise you not to hurt Kara anymore, or you
will suffer the consequences. Is that clear?"
Sophia watched Will throw the soup away and felt bitter. The soup itself didn't cost too much. But what
she added to it was expensive.
However, since James was here, she did not dare to do anything else.
In fact, Sophia wasn't afraid that Kara would know what she had done and try to find the truth since she
was able to excuse herself.
But things were different now. With James backing up her, Kara could get Sophia into trouble if she
refused to let go of it.
In a hurry, Sophia said she was busy and left the ward.
Kara didn't heave a sigh of relief until after Sophia walked out of the ward.
She had pretended to be strong as she didn't want to be in a weak position in front of Sophia. If she
didn't put her foot down, Sophia would take advantage of her.
Fortunately, Uncle James was here. Otherwise, Sophia would have forced her to eat the soup.
Kara was frightened. She unconsciously grasped his arm harder and threw herself into his embrace to
seek security.
In her mind, the tall and strong James was like her father, making her feel at ease.
Only in front of him would she dare to act this way.
Will cast a glance at them. He was surprised that James didn't push Kara away and was patient with
her when she put herself into his arms.
James looked down at Kara, who was dependent on him. He was not sick of it at all. Instead, he was a
little excited.
It was strange, and he couldn't express it clearly either.
He had been in business for years, and he was used to get everything under his control. Kara's
appearance was obviously an accident for him.
An accident that was beyond his control.
"Uncle James, did Aunty Sophia try to harm me again?" Kara made a complaint with a serious face.
"Don't worry. She won't hurt you anymore."
When James thought of how Kara broke the bowl deliberately and pretended to be innocent, he put on
a smile and rubbed her head.
James had been indifferent, but when he talked with Kara, he was extremely gentle. Will could hardly
stand anymore. He coughed and looked away from them.
"But, you and Kathleen are going to...."
Thinking of that James and Kathleen would get engaged soon, Kara was uneasy and she held his litter
finger with her hand flatteringly.
"You don't believe me?"
"I believe you."
James was the only person that she could trust now in this world. So, she couldn't help but feel uneasy.
As Sophia had tried to poison Kara, James wouldn't let her off easily. He asked Nolan to go to the
Quain's.
