Chapter 22 Punishment for Disobedience
Chapter 22 Punishment for Disobedience
“Impossible!” She got the answer from Rebecca Johnson. Mia was stunned. Her eyes flashed with
unbelievable surprise and extreme disapproval, and finally went to anger, she didn’t want but yelled,
“Why did you keep me here, why, why!”
“Because of that!” Rebecca raised her chin, disdainfully pointing to the back. Mia followed her eyes and
saw the bedside table, where a few pieces of paper were lying. She struggled to get up and rushed to
that place, and one word immediately popped out: contract.
There was a check under the words, with countless zeros on it, and finally it was written in capital
letters: one million.
With indifferent face, Rebecca took out her pen and said, “It's the boss's order. Sign it and it's yours. Of
course, this money is only for one month.”
Her eyes clearly determined that she would sign the contract for one million. Mia's tears didn’t flow
down, she stretched her hand to Rebecca. Rebecca snorted contemptuously and handed the pen to
her hand two steps ahead.
Without thinking, she drew a big, powerful cross on the check. Then was the contract, with all her
strength she tore it to pieces. Then she gasped and looked at Rebecca defiantly, with a stubborn smile
in the corners of her lips, “Tell William Brown, I won't be his mistress even if I die!”
Finally, in Rebecca’s always cold eyes appeared something else than disdain, she pursed her lips,
looking at Mia, turned and walked out.
The tears finally fell, and the thin body shook violently and cramped like a dead leaf fluttering in the
autumn wind. After a wave of insults, her thin shoulders collapsed as if she could not bear it anymore,
and the woman fell down...
The icy ground soaked in her body. She didn't know how long she had been lying there until she saw a
pair of bright black men's leather shoes, and she raised her head with dazzling eyes. Originally tall and
slim William was standing in front of her. From this angle, he seemed like an unshakable and majestic
mountain. Unfortunately, it was an iceberg.
He had an icy-cold face, his eyes rose sharply when he saw the torn documents, and the corners of his
lips twitched vigorously.
Rebecca, wearing a pair of high-heeled shoes on her bare calves, was standing beside William. She
gave a signal to the servant behind him, “Help her up.”
Someone put Mia on her feet, and after a short dizziness, she finally looked at William. “Let me out!”
Her throat was hoarse, and when she said this, her throat seemed to be pricked by innumerable
needles.
William clenched his fists; his face became even colder. He gritted his teeth, and said word by word, “It
is impossible to get out! Mia, your body can only belong to me, and I’ve already made clear all the
reasons long ago.”
It was just because she looked like his wife? Mia’s eyes flashed stubbornly, trying to widen William’s icy
eyes, and she said word by word, “William, I am not your wife, and I have nothing to do with you! Let
me go, now!”
“Impossible!”
“Then I’ll fight with you!”
With all her strength, she broke free of the servants' restraints and rushed forward, pounding and
beating William. However, his body was made of steel. She bit him with her fists, but didn’t
cause any harm to him. Once he got her neck, he pinched her again, so tight that she could hardly
breathe, while the thick air from William’s mouth burned her eyes and she couldn't open them at all.
It is better to let this demon strangle instead of being his mistress! Mia decided to stop all resistance,
like Barbie doll let him knead. Her small face was all red because of losing air, delicate and charming
like a rose in full bloom. The big eyes gradually looked at William, and a voice suddenly whirled into
William’s ear, “William, save me!”
His hand snapped and he twisted his head and looked at Mia, who was sliding under him. How can...
he think of Sophia?
Mia gasped weakly. William stared blankly for a while and turned around ready to leave.
“Wait...a moment,” Mia said suddenly, looking eagerly at William. She didn’t know why William hadn’t
killed her, but she would never give in. Obviously, she couldn't fight recklessly anymore.
William didn’t leave, squeezing the doorknob tightly. His back exuded an icy breath but also some kind
of tenderness.
After a few breaths, she could speak again, “I’ve been missing for several days. The family will
definitely be worried. Let me make a call.”
There was silence on the other end for half a century, and then, just when she thought it was hopeless,
she suddenly heard an icy, “Okay!”
Someone supported her to come downstairs. William sat on the sofa with iced handsome face.
Rebecca dutifully stood behind him, offering a cup of fresh green tea…
Faster! Mia pushed away the servant, picked up the phone with unimaginable speed and pressed 911,
shouting at the other end, “Come and save me, I was kidnapped…”
Beep! A burst of pain in her wrist and the phone fall down. Mia saw William approaching her quickly
with a bloody expression of the devil, getting closer and closer...
Her shoulders tightened, her body was lifted high, and she saw his red eyes, "You have guts!" He
squeezed his big palms so tightly, making her bones cluck and sweat from the pain. Mia gritted her
teeth and didn’t say a word, watching the servants tidy up everything and squirmed her mouth, “Kill me,
William. You will be finished when the police arrive!”
“I won't,” there was a faint siren sound in the distance. Suddenly William’s heavy hand became light, he
hugged her and wrapped her with the sheets that Rebecca handed over to him. This time, his strength
was very light, like he was taking care of the person that he loved most.
The police car soon came to the door. The men in black who had been guarding the door disappeared
without a trace. The police walked in without any setbacks.
“Mr. Brown, we just received a call that there was a kidnapping...”
“Yes!” Mia saw a hope, her eyes were gleaming endlessly, and she responded.
Unexpectedly William pressed her face down and his cold lips fell on her, and he kissed her in public
with great affection.
“Get…”
“Honey, that's enough,” his voice was soft as never before, and Mia looked at him suspiciously.
His expression was so soft that the brutality and coldness had just disappeared. When she was dazed,
William looked at the police officer and said respectfully, “I'm sorry, my wife and I had a little conflict
today, so I'm in a bad mood.”
My wife? Mia sobered up in a second and anxiously denied, “No, I have nothing to do with him. Police
officer, you listen to me, he kidnapped me.” NôvelDrama.Org holds text © rights.
The police officer looked at Mia several times, and the corners of his mouth raised, “How can Mrs.
Brown make such a joke? Mr. Brown is a good husband.”
How could this be! Oh yes, she looks like Sophia. Mia finally understood the reason for William’s
fearlessness and screamed, “I am not Mrs. Brown, I am not at all! Officer, you have to listen to me!”
“Baby, stop making trouble,” William kissed the corner of her lips again, and Mia turned her head
angrily. William didn’t look at her, but still politely smiled at the police officer, “My wife has been feeling
bad recently and she is in a bad mood. Please understand, Officer Martin. Rest assured, I will
personally go to your Public Security Bureau to plead guilty.”
Officer Martin laughed ambiguously and exited the door repeatedly saying, “It's okay”, but Rebecca
was following him till the main door. Mia stared in disbelief, let go of her throat and shouted, “No...
um...”
Her lips were suddenly sealed, and William vigorously hugged her, twisting her lips and face like glue.
This ambiguous scene was seen by Officer Martin, he laughed more and more weird and made his
men speed up to the door.
She was thrown to the bed, and William’s tenderness and affection were completely gone. Now he was
cold as a hell devil, and his red eyes rolled with anger.
“You can,” he twisted his lips, staring at her, pinched his long fingers around her chin and twisted it
hard. Then he whispered fiercely into her ear, “See? They're gone, and your little tricks won't help you!”
Outside the window, Rebecca opened the door of officer Martin's car. Officer Martin and his men sat
inside and went away.
Failed.
Mia’s mood vanished in a moment.
