Chapter 217 Feel Wronged
Later, Cordelia left.
Eason sat across from Milo, sipping coffee. His face was filled with exhaustion.
Milo said, "Eason, go rest in the guest room for a while if you're tired."
"I'll go in a moment." Eason nodded with gratitude.
Suddenly, Milo said softly, "Cordelia is a good girl. It's surely a great loss for whoever misses out on
her."
"Mr. Carter, I can tell Cordelia still has feelings for Elijah," Eason looked down at the coffee in front of
him, saying calmly.
Milo smiled and said no more.
He saw through Eason's love for Cordelia but kept silent, knowing that this young man would regret it
someday.
Cordelia went to her studio. In the afternoon, Elijah called her.
"Would you like to have dinner with me tonight?"
"No, I have to work overtime today," Cordelia lied casually.
She didn't want to get too close to Elijah, even though he was pursuing her now.
"Then I'll come and keep you company," Elijah insisted.
Cordelia frowned and was about to refuse, but then she heard Elijah say, "I know you've been wronged
today. You need some comfort from Cookie."
Thinking about Cookie's cute appearance, Cordelia hesitated visibly.
"Send me your address. I'll come and keep you company, then take you back to the Maple Villa," Elijah
persisted.
Cordelia was convinced by him.
In the end, she only said one sentence before hanging up, "I'm at the studio."
She didn't feel wronged.
Since she independently treated patients at the age of eighteen, she was doubted many times. She
would ask them to find someone else if they had any doubts. There was no need to feel wronged.
She agreed to Elijah mostly because of Cookie.
Well, she couldn't refuse an obedient and adorable cat that allowed her to play with it as she pleased.
An hour later, Elijah arrived.
He waited in Cordelia's office, holding a laptop and working with her, looking busy. This content © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.
It was just after the evening rush hour as Cordelia finished her work. Elijah took Cordelia back to the
Maple Villa.
Dinner was already prepared and kept in a thermal box. The chef and Nora had already left.
As soon as they entered the villa, Cordelia saw Cookie walking towards her with a proud stride. It
rubbed against her ankle, then turned its butt towards her, meowing.
Cordelia's eyes lit up. She immediately picked up the cat toy and played with Cookie.
Elijah sat on the side, his gaze fixed on her without moving away.
"Cordie, can I accompany you if you give consultations to patients next time?"
Cordelia paused and looked back at him. "You're so busy with work. I don't think it's a good idea."
But Elijah said seriously, "I don't want something like today to happen again."
"This is inevitable. Elijah, I'm not a delicate flower in a greenhouse." Cordelia put down the cat toy,
picked up Cookie, and sat on the sofa.
"But you let Eason accompany you..." Elijah leaned forward with his gaze following her.
That expression seemed to say, "If he can, why can't I? I feel wronged."
Cordelia helplessly said, "Fine, come with me next time, okay? But I can't take you every time. Elijah,
you should focus on your career."
Just then, Elijah's phone rang. He answered it directly, put it on speakerphone, leaned back on the
sofa, and lazily spoke on the phone.
"Mr. Hansen, the professor is going on a business trip, so the alternative medicine class for this week
will be canceled."
Hearing this, Cordelia was confused.
She thought, "What's going on?"
