Chapter 297 I'm Tired of Being Lonely
Until the door was closed, Eason slowly opened his eyes.
He glanced gently at the doorway and then closed his eyes again, comfortably drifting back to sleep.
By the time Cordelia returned from her morning run, Eason was already up.
She handed Eason the breakfast she bought and asked, "Eason, when did you come back last night?"
"Around three o'clock. I was worried you wouldn't feel comfortable in a different place, so I came back
after the social event to check on you. Seeing your door closed, I knew you were sleeping well, so I felt
relieved."
As Eason spoke, he sat down at the dining table and enjoyed the breakfast Cordelia brought back.
He enjoyed being with Cordelia like this.
If Cordelia was willing, he thought he could spend his life guarding her.
"You should go back to the master bedroom to sleep. You'll catch a cold on the couch," Cordelia
reproached softly.
"I'm used to it."
Eason had gotten used to living alone. When he had time, he would pay attention to details, but if he
was busy, he would just make do.
Cordelia thought for a moment and said, "Eason, I won't disturb you for too long. Once Sir Gudwin's
condition stabilizes, I will transfer his treatment to Lidio, who is in Grant City."
Eason casually replied, "It's nothing. I'd like you to be here. Actually, I'm tired of being lonely too."
"You should find a girlfriend," Cordelia said.
"Compared to starting a relationship with an unfamiliar woman and gradually getting to know each
other, I think taking care of you would be simpler," Eason said with a faint smile.
"I can take care of myself and live well without anyone's help."
Cordelia immediately denied it, afraid that she might have delayed Eason's marriage life.
Eason's eyes darkened, and he didn't say anything more, focusing on his breakfast.
After a while, Adam called.
"Eason, do you remember what I told you yesterday? Elijah turned out to be dishonest!"
Eason glanced at Cordelia, who was busy in the kitchen and then went to the balcony. He asked in a
deep voice, "What happened?"
"Last night, it was already midnight, and Elijah secretly went out to meet his fiancée, and then the two
of them went back to an apartment that's under his name. Such a hypocrite! Poor Cordelia, she likes
him so much! He's a scumbag!"
Adam said with an angry expression that seemed as though he wanted to beat Elijah up right away.
"Do you think we should tell Cordelia about this? I think we should! Otherwise, the whole world will
know, and she'll be left in the dark! How pitiful!"
Listening to Adam's calm narration, Eason's gaze grew cold.
After a long silence, he said, "Let Miss Lopez tell her. I can't bring myself to say it."
"Alright!" Adam hung up the phone.
After Cordelia finished today's treatment for Jayden, she went to Adam's place to accompany Imogen
as usual.
"Cordelia, are you okay?" Imogen asked with concern.
Cordelia's gaze was indifferent, and her expression didn't change in the slightest. "Imogen, I've come to
terms with it. I won't have any hope for him anymore."
Imogen shook her head helplessly. "As expected. Nothing can overcome distance. Even Elijah is no
exception. He couldn't withstand loneliness after all."
Cordelia smiled lightly, turned on her phone, entered the password, and handed it to Imogen.
"Please check the messages for me, Imogen. I don't want to look," Cordelia said as she got up to cut
fruit in the kitchen. This text is property of Nô/velD/rama.Org.
Imogen checked Cordelia's messages, her facial expressions full of drama.
"Oh my god, I can't take it anymore! Laura is such a scheming bitch! It's beyond tolerable!" Imogen
suddenly couldn't help but curse.
