Will You Marry Me, Again

Chapter 11

Chapter 11 The Wedding Anniversary The caller ID displayed her father’s name. With pursed lips, Maia hesitated before answering. “Yes?” she couldn't bring herself to call him “Dad” and spoke impassively. “What’s the matter?”

“Maia, how did your mother’s 20 percent stake in the winery end up in Errol’s name?” Homer Burgess shouted, “What have you been doing behind my back? When did your mom make this will? Why didn’t | know about it?”

Now that Cedric owned 55 percent of Burgess Winery, that 20 percent stake was of utmost importance to Homer. He would be left with no rights if he lost it.

Maia gripped her phone. He was being ridiculous. She mocked, “You only cared about your mistress back then. How would you know about Mom making her will?”

“You must've worked with that fucking lawyer Nigel to steal my rightful shares! What did you give him in return? Now that you’ve got nothing after the divorce, you must be prostituting yourself, huh?”C0pyright © 2024 Nôv)(elDrama.Org.

Maia was upset. Instead of a father she could rely on, Homer was nothing but a disappointment.

Homer continued maliciously, “Maia, what have you gotten from the marriage? You slept with Cedric for nothing, and now you’re trying to steal what belongs to me. You're fucking useless!

Maia fought back tears, unable to believe her own father would say such cruel things.

Just as Maia was about to say something, someone snatched her phone away, and Homer’s tirade continued on the

“ther end of the line.

Maia was speechless when she saw Cedric. Suddenly, he disconnected the call.

Cedric frowned. “Were you just going to let him talk to you like that?”

“Well, he... was right, wasn’t he?” Maia let out a bitter smile. Her voice was so soft that one could hardly hear it in the wind.

Cedric stared at her with mixed emotions and tossed her phone back to her. Then he turned and walked towards the Rolls— Royce parked on the side.

Maia quickly chased after him. “Aren't you going to ask why I’m here?” “Why would | care?” “Then why did you get out of your car in the first place?” She was always trying to get him to

“I saw someone blocking the road, so | got out of the car to see who it was.

‘| was blocking the road? How could | block the road while walking along the curb?* “Cedric.” Maia called out gently as she grabbed his coat.

She had done so countless times before.

“Let go!”

Maia tightened her grip instead. “I’ve come to see you. Today’s our wedding anniversary. Can we celebrate it together?”
