Chapter 573 Changing In A Snap
Chapter 573 Changing In A Snap
By now, Sienna became increasingly convinced by what Gwendolyn had told her before.
While she was deep in thought, Annie had signed the document, grabbed an ink pad, and pressed Gwendolyn’s thumb onto the ink.
Annie maintained a calm gaze and kept her intentions hidden after doing all that in one go, no longer acting like a harmless rabbit.
She passed the document to Sienna. “With this waiver, Harris Group rightfully belongs to Mr. Asher. You can rest easy now, Mrs. Harris.”
Sienna glanced through the details. “But Gwendolyn’s only unconscious for now and will wake up eventually. She didn’t even sign this document on her own. What if she denies having signed it?”
Annie remained composed. “Don’t worry. I’ll be taking her away tonight, so she won’t show up for a while. I still suggest you talk Mr. Asher into taking office, though. Things may get complicated if the matter gets dragged on.”
Sienna furrowed her brows. “Where will you take her?”
“This isn’t something you should be asking, Mrs. Harris. Our agreement was for me to help Mr. Asher regain what’s his and relinquish Gwendolyn’s power. With this document, everything will be accomplished. I’ve done my part, so I should be getting what I want next–and all I want is to take Gwendolyn away.”
“You!”
Without waiting for Sienna to continue, Annie whipped out her phone and sent a voice message in Epean. “I’ve got Gwendolyn all tied up. Get her out of here now.”
In less than two minutes, the new chef from Ospea removed his apron and chef’s uniform to reveal a black suit fitting for a bodyguard.
Per Annie’s instructions, he entered the guest room, swiftly placed the unconscious Gwendolyn over his shoulder, and turned to leave.
Sienna went after them, feeling slightly anxious. “What are you planning, Annie? We’re in Chanaea! You’re basically kidnapping if you take her away with you like this. If anything were to happen to her, do you think you’d get to avoid jail time just because you’re Ospean?”
Given that she was so close to achieving her goal, Annie disregarded Sienna and followed the bodyguard closely, walking along the aisle and preparing to head down the stairs.
“Hold it right there.” Right then, a deep, hoarse voice sounded out.
Annie stopped in her tracks and turned around slowly, only to notice Asher walking over laboriously with -one hand against the wall for support, seemingly in excruciating pain due to his leg.
“Put her down,” the man ordered sternly, his eyes gleaming with an intense look of authority.
Annie’s eyes were bloodshot as she asserted, “I gave you exactly what you wanted, Mr. Asher, but there’s something Gwendolyn owes me. I want it back from her, and you can’t stop me.”
Filled with rage, Asher raised his hand and slapped her across the face.
Slap!

Even Sienna was shocked, for she had not expected Asher to strike the woman.
Annie was slapped so hard that her head tilted to one side, and it wasn’t long before a red handprint appeared on her cheek.
With a grim expression, she rubbed her face to soothe the burning pain.
A while later, she tamped down her rage and sneered instead of lashing out at Asher. “That’s how you want it to be? Fine. I won’t take that slap to heart, but I’m still taking her away, and you don’t have a say in this.”
Amidst the tense atmosphere, the woman once again took out her phone and dialed Paul’s number. “Honey, are you waiting for me at the bottom of Mount Tranquil? You can send your men to come get me now,” she said coyly. “Mr. Asher doesn’t want me to leave with Gwendolyn, so I’ll need your help!”
There weren’t many bodyguards on Mount Tranquil tonight.
Gwendolyn had assigned many of them elsewhere, saying that more hands were needed to guard a new project that was in the midst of development.
Thus, Paul and his men could make their way over with little to no hassle.
As he was still injured, Asher was too weak to do anything about it. He could only stand by and watch Annie and Paul leave with an unconscious Gwendolyn.
Several black vans soon sped away and left the mountain in a flash before disappearing into the night.
Asher was so livid that he punched the wall, causing Sienna to rush over and check on him. “It’s okay, this is all still within Gwen’s control. She always knows what she’s doing, so everything will be fine. We’ll just wait for her to take care of things,” she said, trying to console Asher.
Asher turned around and glared at her. “That’s nonsense! What if she didn’t know what she was doing, and you just went along with her like an idiot?”
Sore about getting lectured when she was only trying to console him, Sienna retorted, “Well, I’m not as clueless as you are. At least I know who to side with! What about you? If you keep playing dumb, you’re going to end up on your own, and no one in the family will acknowledge you!”
Asher sighed and said, “Cedrick’s currently on a business trip, so he’s brought his best assistants along with him. Kiddo doesn’t have her biggest support around to help her.”
He continued, “Paul’s movements may be restricted while he’s in Chanaea, but he’s still an Ospean noble. Even if he ends up killing someone in Chanaea, Ospea will send a diplomat over to have him return to his own country for the trial. With his power in Ospea, he could just find a scapegoat and get himself out of trouble. Annie has him as her support, so it certainly won’t be easy for Kiddo to handle this when Cedrick’s not around.”
A crease formed between Sienna’s brows as she listened to his explanation. Despite her anxiousness, she still believed in Gwendolyn.
“Even if Cedrick’s not here, she still has you, doesn’t she? You’ll have to be her support. get that Kiddo tends to hold grudges, but she also remembers all the good done to her. This is your chance to patch things up with her, Hubby!”
Asher looked down and shook his head. “It’s been about a year since I resigned and stayed home doing nothing. I’m not as influential as I used to be. Cedrick’s definitely far more powerful than I am now.”
He couldn’t guarantee Gwendolyn’s safety if anything were to happen to her.
Still, he would do his best to protect her–whether or not she would forgive him when it was over.
With that in consideration, the man made a call to have a private army check the roads‘ surveillance cameras so they could locate and rescue his sister.
Meanwhile, the still–unconscious Gwendolyn had been placed in the back of one of the vans.
The two bodyguards watching her noted how exquisite she looked. Although she had passed out, there was no hiding her stunning beauty.
On top of that, since she was tied up, her posture accentuated her voluptuous body. The guards couldn’t help ogling at her curves.
Eyes filled with lust, the men gulped and attempted to touch Gwendolyn’s silky skin–only to be stopped by Annie.
“Keep your hands to yourselves,” she ordered from the front. “If you touch her where you shouldn’t, I’ll have Paul mince your hands and feed them to the dogs.
A chill ran down the bodyguards‘ spines. “Yes, Ma’am!
“Remember this–you don’t get to touch Gwendolyn even if she ends up my slave or if I torture her to death,” Annie added frostily.
“Understood, Ms. Annie! She’s yours, so we will never dare to lay a finger on her.”
Seeing the two men behave themselves, Annie retracted her gaze as her usual cheery and nonchalant demeanor returned.
The bodyguards shuddered at the sight. Her personality changes in a snap! That’s terrifying.
