Chapter 1231 Stupid
Chapter 1231 Stupid
The two men made sure the children were tied up firmly before heading out.
Only when the door closed with a thud did Zachary open his eyes to steal glances at his surroundings. He felt slightly relieved when he realized there was no one in the hut looking at them.
He continued to observe the interior with caution. The hut did not seem unoccupied. It was neat and the air was clean. Clearly, it was used often.
Zachary felt more refreshed after recomposing himself. Realizing no one was coming in from the outside, he nudged Tim several times and breathed, “Tim, wake up.”
Tim did not wake up, nevertheless.
The lack of response worried Zachary. He moved closer to Tim and observed him closely, only to find that he was merely unconscious.
Maybe Tim isn't waking up because he took in more sleeping drugs. I took in less because I was more careful.
Just then, the sound of footsteps rang out from outside. Zachary quickly shut his eyes and pretended to be asleep.
In the next second, the door was pushed open. The man was holding a phone and reporting to someone through a video call, “Sir, we captured two of them. They're Benjamin Graham's kids, all right. Yes, they look the same. What do we do next?”
“Why are they asleep? Are they all right?”
The voice on the phone sounded unfamiliar. Zachary could not recognize it.
“They're just unconscious. They're all right,” responded the subordinate.
“Keep a close eye on them. We'll be right over.”
“Hey, what did Boss say?” asked another man who entered the hut.
“He'll be here soon. He told us to keep a close eye on them.”
“They're not getting anywhere when we've tied them up so firmly.”
“It's safer to watch them. We can discuss the rest when Boss arrives.”
The men sat in a corner and began playing cards.
Zachary took a peek at the men and frowned. With the men in the hut, it was not a good idea to wake Tim up.
Judging by their conversation earlier, Zachary was sure they were still safe for the time being.
Who's the one who ordered the kidnap? Could it be Benjamin's enemies? Or is it Mommy's enemies? Looks like I'll only find out when their boss arrives. Should I continue pretending to be asleep or should
I wake up to fish for some information?
There was still a chance of Zachary escaping from the men alone, but it was almost impossible if he had to bring Tim along.
Not only did Tim not know how to fight, but he was still unconscious. It would make running away hard for the two of them.
Zachary was incredibly worried, but no matter how much he thought about it, he could only stay calm and observe for the time being.
“D*mn it. What's this? Did you guys secretly work together to trick me? Why do I keep losing?”
“You've got terrible skills, that's why. We don't even need to trick you.”
“Haha! You must be unlucky today. It's got nothing to do with us.”
“Hmph! Something tells me you guys did it on purpose.”
“Are you stupid or something? You can't win all the time, can you? Even those who paired up with you lost.”
“Come on. Let's change our seats. I can't keep losing when you guys keep winning. I don't believe this is my fate.”
Unfortunately, even after changing their seats, the man still kept losing. He was livid, but he continued playing because of how addicting it was.
“A pair of Ks—”
“You should play a pair of As!”
A childish voice rang out suddenly.
“A pair of As? Are you stupid?” the man snapped, refusing to trust the advice given. He then threw out the pair of Ks from his deck. Nôvel(D)rama.Org's content.
“You're the one who's stupid. You should play a pair of As. You're going to lose. They don't have other pairs larger than yours. You could've played a straight set, followed by a straight flush. Someone will try to put out their trump cards, but you have a pair of twos and a K. You'll win no matter what cards they play.”
Zachary rolled his eyes. How stupid. He might as well give away his money instead of trying to win.
