Your Love Is But a Dream (Clara and Wren)

Angie's expression was full of disapproval when she heard Ivy's sentiment. Indignant with righteous anger, she snapped, "Why should you step aside just because Clara likes Wren? Who does she think she is? She's just a foster daughter leeching off the Zachmans. "Once you are married to Wren, you will be the rightful lady of the Zachman family, so why should you give that up to her?"

Angie continued, "Besides, your love with Wren is mutual. Even if you were willing to step aside, do you think he would agree? Clara has been part of the Zachman family for over ten years. If anything were to happen between them, it would have happened a long time ago.

"Why would it suddenly happen now? Clara is probably just deluding herself and obsessively clinging to Wren, but he only has eyes for you. She should leave. Only then won't she be in your way."

Some time ago, Ivy had subtly hinted to Angie that Clara liked to stick close to Wren and that their relationship went beyond that of mere siblings. This caused Angie to hold a bias against Clara, and hearing Ivy's remarks now worsened her opinions of Clara. Ivy's lips curled into a pleased smile at Angie's words.

That was right-in the eyes of others, Ivy was Wren's rightful girlfriend. Clara was nothing more than a brazenly shameless woman fixated on her foster brother.

But when she thought of Wren's attitude, a flicker of gloom flashed in Ivy's eyes.

After she said goodbye to Angie, she tried calling Wren again, unwilling to give up. Yet, no one picked up again.

Unwilling to accept this, Ivy hesitated for a moment before driving to Zachman Group.

When she arrived at the CEO's office, Taylor wasn't around. She was probably out delivering some work-related instructions on Wren's behalf. Ivy hadn't gotten anything out of Taylor the last time she was here, so she didn't bother pinning her hopes on Taylor and headed straight to Liam's office instead.

The company had been overwhelmed in the past few days because of Wren's absence. Everyone was constantly rushing around.

When Liam heard someone push the door open, he thought it was Taylor. But when he looked up and saw Ivy, his expression changed slightly.

"Ms. Jones, what brings you here?" Liam had no choice but to stand up and greet her.

Ivy pulled out a chair and sat down. She smiled at Liam and asked, "I hope I'm not interrupting your work?"

Liam sat down but didn't answer her question. Instead, he queried, "Is there something you need from me, Ms. Jones?"

Ivy cursed him internally for feigning ignorance, but she didn't dare offend Liam outwardly.

She sighed as she put on a

guilt-ridden expression and said,

"Actually, I'm here today to ask about Clara's whereabouts, Mr. Parker. With everything that happened before, I think Clara might be holding a grudge against me, which is why she has been unwilling

to come home."

"I am her future sister-in-law, after all. I can't just watch her living out there in anger, so I wanted to ask if you know where she's staying or if there is any way to contact her," Ivy continued.

"I would like to find her and have a proper talk. If I can bring her home, Mr. and Mrs. Zachman and Wren won't have to worry anymore."

Ivy was smarter this time and didn't directly ask Liam about Wren's whereabouts.

The last time she tried with Taylor, she hit a brick wall. She figured out Wren had already ordered his employees not to reveal his location.

If that was the case, Liam must have received the same instructions. Even if she asked him, he certainly wouldn't tell her the truth. She could only take a different approach and ask fm about Clara's whereabouts instead.

If her guess was right, Wren was, without a doubt, with that bitch Clara right now. Finding Clara would mean finding Wren.

details between Wren and Ivy, since Wren had instructed that his movements must not be disclosed, it was extremely likely he wouldn't want anyone to know Clara's whereabouts, either.

Although Ivy insisted she was here for Clara, Liam suspected her real motive was surely related to Wren.
