Be Your Lover Forever (Alicia)

Chapter 229

Chapter 229

Alicia touched her cheek. Then, she shook her head and replied, "It's nothing.'"

She didn't want to talk about it as it would ruin her mood. However, looking at Frederick's cold gaze, she had no choice but to tell him what happened.

"I really don't know what is wrong with her. She just lashed out at me. My husband is so good- looking, gentle, considerate, and rich. Wouldn't you be the smarter choice? Not to mention for someone as smart as me!"

Alicia grinned as she told Frederick the whole story before she continued. It was cute how she blinked and showered him with compliments.

"If it weren't for her being pregnant, I would have slapped her! I held back with her condition, it would be my fault if anything happened to her. Don't you think I'm smart, Hubby? After this, I'm sure that she won't come and look for me. It wasn't like she could do anything to me. There would just merely be words. She would be at the losing end if she picked a fight with me!"

She was not only smart but sly as a fox.

Although he knew where she was coming from and agreed with her way of handling things, Frederick still felt sorry that she was slapped. He caressed her cheek and said, "Yes!"

Frederick swore that he would make the Crouch family pay for what Lindsay had done.

Alicia felt so much better after seeing how well Martin was recovering. Although she was still working hard at both her daytime and a part- time job, she was extremely motivated. She was looking forward to her family reuniting again.

One day, Alicia used some free time on her schedule and translated an extra thousand words. She felt accomplished and internally commended herself for it!

After saving the file and send it in an email, she got up and printed some documents. She was ready to go out for a walk to relax.

Alicia got up as she saw that the queue was getting shorter. When she got up, she felt an itch on her arm. She couldn't help but scratch it.

Alicia realized she left her phone charging after she headed out. As she was involved in arranging for Martin's surgery, she was afraid that she would miss any crucial information about the surgery. She had no choice but to run back to her office to get her phone.

Although it was only one floor and a short distance, Alicia's itch reacted again. It was getting more uncomfortable. After retrieving the printed documents, she returned to her seat but she couldn't sit still.

Strange. What was happening?

Alicia reached out to scratch, then she realized there were bumps on her neck. She immediately took out a small mirror and look at her neck. There was a big area of rashes with some molting under her clavicle. Some parts that she scratched earlier were even bleeding. It was gruesome.

Could it be an allergy? Did she eat something wrong?

Was it because of the crab?

But, she had had crab before. She never had an allergic reaction toward seafood!

Alicia was itchy all over but she couldn't pinpoint where exactly. She lifted her sleeves and looked at her arms. She was puzzled as nothing was wrong with it.

Why was her arm itchy too?

She initially wanted to wait until after work to grab some medication but the more she looked at the rash, the more she worried. Was the rash going to fester? The more she looked at it, the more mortifying it was! This content belongs to Nô/velDra/ma.Org .

Alicia left the company an hour earlier and went to the hospital for an examination. She was asked to wait for the result.

Alicia didn't read too much into it and waited.

Moments later, the nurse's voice rang, "Number 76! Miss Alicia Blanchard!"

Alicia strode towards the nurse upon hearing her name. "Coming!"

The nurse stopped her just when she was about to go in. The nurse spoke as she flipped through Alicia's record.

"Miss Blanchard, something went wrong with your skin test. I'm afraid that you can't get the result today. You would have to come back tomorrow! Here's a prescription of antipruritic medicine from the doctor. Please proceed to the pharmacy on the first floor."

Alicia's heart dropped as she heard what the nurse said. She was already feeling odd that she had to test her skin again. At this instant, she started to feel more anxious as the results were not out yet.

It shouldn't be that big of a problem, right? Alicia tried to calm herself down.

"Okay, thanks!" Alicia took the prescription. She took a glimpse at it but wasn't able to understand any of it.

As she turned around, she scratched herself and made her way to the pharmacy. She didn't notice that the nurse was rolling her eyes at her.

As she was worried, she couldn't help but be absent- minded. Her pace slowed and she finally stopped in the middle of the aisle. Alicia looked at the prescription intently in hopes to find some clues about her condition. However, the handwriting was unreadable.

"Is this an 'o' or an 'a'?"

Just as she was focused on the prescription, she heard a voice reprimanding her from behind.

"Now you know how it feels like! This is what you get when you misbehave! From now on, take good care of your hygiene. How could you go out with your boyfriend just like that? Men are all liars! Where is he now when you need him the most? He's nowhere to be found!"

"If you insist, you will have pustules all over your body just like he, and then the pustules will fester..." "When that happens, it'll be so itchy that it'll be insufferable!"

"Do you want to be like her? Look at how disgusting she looks. What did she get herself into?"

"There's a live example here for you. If you don't listen to me, you'll become just like her. When that times come, it will be more than a few pimples and itches!"

"Yet, you still wanted branded things? Love? What do you know about love at this age? Girls have to guard their chastity."

Coming back to her senses, Alicia saw a sturdy middle-aged woman and a skinny girl with her head down walking past her. In one of the woman's hands was a hospital examination bag while the girl had a phone. They murmured and would glance at Alicia from time to time as if she caught some disgusting virus.

The two of them obviously took it out of context based on the envious look on the nurse's face and what she said. The middle-aged woman made Alicia into a life lesson.

Alicia couldn't help but put her hand on her body as she watched both of them walk into the elevator. Could it really be what they said? Alicia wondered.

After retrieving the medication, Alicia realized that it was the most common ointment to treat all sorts of skin irritations, even mosquito bites.

Alicia was down as she walked out of the hospital. Suddenly, she remembered how she made up after fighting with Frederick and she slept with him without any protection. Before then, there were rumors of him sleeping with other women.

"What are the odds? It was just once!"

Could it be Frederick who got Alicia infected? No wonder the doctor recommended waiting until the next day for the test results.

Who had he been fooling around with? Did he get infected by another woman and gave it to her? Alicia thought to herself.

The more Alicia thought, the more infuriated she got. Looking at the clock, it was not five o’clock yet. Alicia started her car and drove to Soaver International.

Alicia was stopped by the security guard at the entrance. Fortunately, Chet just came back and she could pass. She went to the top floor and with Chet's instructions, she found Frederick's office. Right then, Alicia was furious. Instead of knocking, she kicked the door.

"Frederick, how dare you do this to me!'
