Betrothed To The Mafia Lord

Chapter 122

Chapter 122

Sofia’s POV

I moved it around and placed it on my thighs, moving my other hand around to place my palm flat

against the dry surface or the carton of the juice.

I remained quiet for a few moments more right before I moved my head around and stared up at Ryan.

He had still been watching me all along and our eyes locked almost immediately I turned my head

around, and I stared into his eyes for a few more seconds right before I looked away, not because his

gaze was intense or burying, but because I was feeling like he could see all my dirty shameful secrets

by just staring at me at this very moment, coupled with the fact that he had once again witnessed one

of my most embarrassing moments of my life, to my utmost dismay.

“You did.” I said to him and watched from the side of my eyes as he bent his head and moved my hand

over his face for a few seconds, right before he moved his head towards and stared at me once again,

and the eyes which had been watching him from the side of my eyes for a few moments, moved away

faster than a light.

“I didn’t mean to, I am so sorry ma’am.” I heard him echo and I stared at the blank television hanging

on the wall in the far end of the sitting room, right before I gave a nod of my head without replying

vocally.

We remained quiet after that and I was completely aware of the fact that his body was still crouched

down on the side of the cough which I was sitting on at the moment, and that he was still staring at me

and not making any money to leave.

I didn’t know if I wanted to ask him to move away and excuse me or if I wanted to ask him to still stay

where he was crouched at, all I knew was that the silence was nice and that it was helping me get a

more clearer and firmer grip on this current reality, and also the fact thst it was helping the foggy smoke

in my head to melt off little by little.

“Sofia?” I heard Ryan breath out in a small, soft voice and I got startled a little, and I was whipping my Belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.

head around to steer at him after a fleeting moment of me demanding from myself if I had indeed heard

what I had heard right, or if it was my own imagination.

Ryan had called me by my name… something I had wanted to happen ever since tne first moment

where they introduced themselves to me, and had both refused to refer to me informally to my

disappointment.

I stared at him and waited for him to start to speak because he had been the one to call my name,

which meant he probably wanted to tell me something.

“You do know that I’d never hurt you, right.” I heard him breath out in that voice which he had made use

of when he had referred to me with my first name and I stared at him with my teeth slightly digging into

my lower lips and I shrugged a little before nodding my head once.

I wouldn’t say I completely believed him, because I had after all completely trusted someone, and it had

ended up really badly for me, so I don’t even know for now, if I am going to be honest with myself at the

moment.

I mean, I had completely trusted someone and never imagined that he’d ever hurt me.

But what had ended up happening?

Now that I think about it, it was a really risky thing for men to be completely trusted, because they were

more or less the same thing.

Well, except my younger brother.

Any other men, including my father, were involved. Infact, if I got told that my father was leading this

particular group, I wouldn’t even bat an eye because I knew who he was and what he was capable of.

“I’d never hurt you, Sofia.” He once again echoed out after a few moments and I dragged my eye off

the wall where I had been absent mindedly staring into and moved my eyes over to rest above my face

once again. I watched how intense his eyes were and how it almost seemed like he meant those words

truthfully.

He might end up meaning it after all, because it wasn’t like all men were the same to begin with.

I nodded my head at him once and swallowed emptily, feeling my throat worked emptily to work the air

down and into my lungs almost immediately.

“Can you tell me some stuff about you?” I heard him ask and once again, my eyes were moving around

fast to rest my gaze on his face almost immediately after those words had left his lips.

“Huh?” I asked dumbly because it started to feel like I hadn’t heard clearly at first.

“I mean, if you don’t mind, can you tell me some things about you?” He echoed out once again and I

started to rake my head at that very moment, trying to see if there’s something wrong with me that was

making him act this weird around me at this very moment.

Firstly, he had addressed me with my name, and now he was asking me to tell him about myself, and

he also wasn’t making any move to get up to his feet and at least take a seat before me on one of the

clutches here in the sitting room, instead of the position which he had been in for a while now.

Also, don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t about the fact about the fact of me being asked to speak about

myself to someone that was weird, it was the fact that the person doing the asking was Ryan –

someone that was always in a hurry to leave my presence and was always reluctant to start or continue

a conversation with me no matter how much I’ve tried to start up a conversation between the two of us,

and now, that same person was currently cliched down beside the couch where I was currently curled

up in, and he was asking me to tell me something about myself, let’s not forget about he had finally

referred to me with my name today after I had tried to make him refer to me with my name.

So yeah, of course it was weird.

It really was weird.

“Um, I should tell you about myself?” I demanded in a small voice after a little whole while still staring

down at him and watched as he nodded his head once and I swallowed emptily as I moved my eyes

away to rest it on my hands which were oh my thighs, automatically breaking eye contact with him,

which had barely lasted five seconds in the first place, to begin with.

“Yeah, well not the obvious, I want to know about something I don’t know about you yet, tell me about

yourself.” He breathed out again, a small chuckle mixing with his voice as he spoke and I nodded my

head dumbly with my gaze still glued to my hands which were starting to feel all sweaty.

Gosh. It felt like I was in a spotlight and everyone’s eyes were suddenly on me, and that they were all

watching my every move.

I lifted my head up and moved the tiny curls around my face which were starting to get into my face too

much, over to the side of my ears with a quick move or my fingers, and after that, I dragged my gaze

over to Ryan’s and stared at him without saying a thing for a few moments before starting to speak.

“Er, would Luca approve?” I asked in a small voice before I could stop myself and the words write out of

my mouth before I could even attempt to bite it back.

I watched as an unknown facial expression crossed his face as soon as my words settler into his head

and I bit on my lower lips ever so slightly, knowing that I had stooped really low, moments ago – all

because I had been way too nervous about starting to talk about myself, for some weird unknown

reasons, and also because I wanted him to feel the same thing, or almost the same thing which I used

to feel each time I tried to do a thing or speak to him and he’d be pulling the Luca card.

I know I probably wasn’t making use of my brains to think at the moment and would be an instant dead

meat if Luca gets to see my thoughts right now, and all the ‘Luca card’ thing which was going around in

my head at this very moment.

“I don’t think he’d mind, and he wouldn’t have to, because we wouldn’t be telling him about it.”
