Chasing My Pregnant Wife

Chapter 1346

Theodore fell silent for a few seconds before saying, "I know. I know deep in my heart that's what you feel."

Rosalie suddenly felt cold, not because of the wind but because her heart had turned cold. "Theo, let's go home. I miss Stevie." Theodore nodded. "Alright, let's head home."

These were stolen moments, and the time they shared right now was due to end.

Rosalie turned around and suddenly stepped on something which caused her to lose her balance and almost fall.

Theodore wrapped his arms around her and pulled her into his embrace. "Be careful."

Rosalie was still recovering from the slight shock when she turned her head and realized how close they were to each other.

Suddenly, Theodore cupped her cheeks in his hands and kissed her lips.

Rosalie was stunned as memories flooded her mind. She felt tears welling up in her eyes and in that moment, she forgot about pushing him away. It was only when a thought suddenly came to mind that she shoved him away.

In the past, she might have slapped him in response, but she was so shocked, she simply stared at him as emotions whirled in her mind.

"I'm sorry, I couldn't hold myself back," Theodore said.

He was trying very hard to suppress his desires, but when he drew Rosalie close earlier, his self-control broke and he couldn't stop the desires burning in his heart.

He looked down guiltily, like a child who did wrong.

Theodore in this state moved Rosalie so. She couldn't help but think back on everything that had happened between them.

It had been 12 years. How many 12 years did one have in a lifetime?

"Let's go," Rosalie said calmly.

A tall figure stood behind a tree, silently watching Theodore and Rosalie walk away. He sighed desolately and turned to leave, disappearing into the darkness.

By the time Theodore and Rosalie reached home, it was already very late and Steve had already fallen asleep.

Rosalie didn't interrupt him from his sleep and washed up. "Theo, rest early."

"Rose, are you mad at me?"

Rosalie looked doubtfully at him. "What?"

"I kissed you."

Rosalie caressed her lips and smiled awkwardly. "It was an accident. Don't do it again next time."

She turned to leave, but Theodore grabbed her arm. "Is there no chance of us working out at all?"

Rosalie felt a tug in her heart as sorrow seeped in. That sorrow wasn't because she loved Theodore but couldn't have him, but because too much had happened between them. Now that the dust had settled, pain instinctively set in when he asked her a question like that again.

"Theo, you're the father of our child and no one can change that, but I can't promise you anything else. I'm sorry, but I just feel so tired."

She shook his hand away and went upstairs.

"You've fallen in love with Justin, haven't you?" Theodore asked.

Rosalie stopped in her tracks up the stairs.

"You love him," Theodore said firmly, no longer posing it as a question. He looked up at her, his gaze blurring slightly.

Rosalie turned around, but before she could reply, he said with a smile, "You don't need to reply to me."

He didn't want to hear Rosalie's answer. It would be way too cruel to him.

"Theo, Justin has nothing to do with what's between us. Even without him....."

Rosalie paused. Saying more would only be cruel to Theodore.

She continued up the stairs, but stopped after taking a few steps.

"He's leaving, and I have no reason to make him stay. I'll just leave things be don't want to struggle over things of the heart. It's enough for us to lead our lives peacefully. Steve is my priority right now."

Right now, her child was the most important person to her.

In the past, she had thought that women should always put themselves first, and their mothers came next. But after becoming a mother herself, she realized that the instinctive love of a mother wasn't something she could hold back on. She could risk her life for her child, so how could she possibly put herself first?

One could only understand certain things after experiencing them. A bystander would never be able to fully understand or empathize.

With that, Rosalie went upstairs and disappeared around the corner.

"Rose, you're the most important person to me right now," Theodore mumbled to himself.

Although Steve was very important to him, Rosalie came first.noveldrama
