Chapter 1369
Adam shivered from head to toe.
What on earth?!
Why was Jackson giving him that look?
Like he'd seen a ghost, it nearly scared him stiff.
All he did was chat with the young lady; surely, he hadn't offended him, right?
"If you're hurt, you should get some proper rest," Jackson said as he stood up. "I'm heading out with Fiona. If you need anything, find a doctor." Fiona???noveldrama
Hearing Jackson call her by such a familiar name left Adam floored.
And then he noticed how protective Jackson was acting.
Oh, come on!
Could Jackson seriously be interested in this young girl?
Fiona was a bit taken aback too.
She hadn't expected Jackson to call her Fiona.
He used to refer to her as "young student" or "young lady."
"Shall we go?" Jackson asked, noticing her silence, his eyes dropping to meet hers.
As he spoke, his deep, captivating voice rolled out, drawing attention to the dark shirt that complemented his commanding presence. Fiona licked her teeth and said, "Let's go."
Nobody could compare to her brother.
Jackson had been waiting for those words. As soon as Fiona said them, he pulled her along.
Back in the room, Adam was left speechless, hiding his face under the covers.
Seriously, Jackson, was that necessary?
I'm not even competing with you for anybody, so why the suspicion?
Once they were outside, Jackson let go of Fiona's hand.
"Kiddo, you're still young. Some guys aren't good news, keep your distance from them," Jackson advised, his tone calm and fatherly. Fiona tilted her head and grinned, her tiny fang peeking out.
"And what about you, brother?"
"I'm different," Jackson said without a hitch.
Fiona looked at him and then burst into laughter.
"Alright, brother is different."
"Ms. Fiona!"
Just then, an excited voice rang out.
A little old Iman in a white lab coat,
one
a medical bag, was towards Fiona with
ovel
sm.
His eyes sparkled with excitement.
""Ms. Fiona!"
He reached her, rubbing his hands together with a mix of excitement and nervousness.
"Is there something you need?"
Fiona asked curiously, barely remembering him, though it seemed he was around during Adam's surgery last time.
"Ms. Fiona, I want to apologize for some things I said in the operating room before."
They had underestimated Fiona because of her youthful appearance and said some unkind words.
After the surgery, he had wanted to apologize, but she had already left by the time he got out.
Finally seizing this chance, knowing she was here, he rushed over.
"No worries," Fiona shrugged. She was used to it and didn't let it bother her.
Being young, people often doubted her medical skills.
But it wasn't a big deal for her.
She'd prove them wrong with her expertise.
"Ms. Fiona, your surgical technique that day reminded me of the famous Dr. Seraphine and the legendary Dr. Jules. Did you intentionally model your skills after them?"
He asked earnestly, seeking her advice.
Fiona paused, then said, "Sort of."
She touched her nose, a bit sheepishly.
After all, she did learn from them.
The old man beamed with pride.
He had guessed correctly.
He was a die-hard fan of Dr. Seraphine and Dr. Jules!
Even if it was Dr. Seraphine's daughter standing there, he'd recognize her in an instant!
