Chapter 2896
In the event hall, the dinner had ended, and after saying goodbye to the guests, Layla was about to leave with Eric. Eric had not rested throughout the day, and though he did not seem tired, Layla had to make sure that he lay down. "I will go check on Hayden first." Worried about Hayden, she decided to drop by Hayden's room.
"Yeah. He doesn't usually drink, right? He drank quite a lot today." Eric was grateful for Hayden's help with the guests.
"I don't live with him, so I don't know how good his tolerance for alcohol is. He doesn't really drink when he is around us." Layla recalled how flushed Hayden looked when he left the hall.
"Yeah. Let's keep him away from any alcohol tomorrow," Eric said.
"I'm just worried that he might throw up at night, and no one is there to look after him." Layla hurried toward the VIP rooms, and when they arrived before Hayden's room, Hayden's bodyguard immediately bowed respectfully to them.
"Why are you standing outside the door? Did my brother tell you to?" Layla asked.
The bodyguard shook his head. "He drank too much. I was worried he might need me in the middle of the night, so I decided to wait outside for a bit."
"I will go in and have a look." Layla reached for the doorbell.
The bodyguard stopped her. "He is probably already asleep. Don't worry. I'm standing right here. If something is wrong, I will discover it right away."
"Do you have the keycard to the room?" Layla was worried that the bodyguard might not hear the sounds inside the room.
"I asked the manager for the spare keycard." The bodyguard showed her the keycard.
She nodded. "Make sure you go inside later. If he throws up, make him some tea."
"Sure," the bodyguard said. "You guys should get some rest!"
"Okay."
After Layla and Eric left, Avery came over half an hour later, and the bodyguard repeated the same thing he said to Layla.

The next morning, Hayden woke up with a pounding headache and
stared at the ceiling as he trie
recall everything that had happened the night before.
He remembered everything, but his memories of the woman he had slept with were faint.
On the other hand, he remembered Lola's face distinctly.
He glanced beside him and saw a strand of long hair on the pillow and sat up to massage his temples.
Instantly, his attention was drawn to the cash on the nightstand.
He had given the money to the woman from the night before, but the woman had left it there.
The money was not there before he fell asleep, so he figured the woman had placed it there on purpose before leaving.
"Why didn't she take the money?" he thought. "What does she want? Does she want nothing at all?"
Hayden hated being in debt to others and headed to the reception after washing up to look for the woman. "Mr. Tate, do you know her name?"
Hayden pursed his lips and shook his head.
"What about her employee number?"
Hayden shook his head again. "Can't you pull out the list of employees who worked during that time?"
"I could, but haven't heard that
someone was in your room. Maybe I
ver
will ask around." The receptionist started making calls to all
employees that worked the night shift.
