Chapter 882: It's You Who Can't Have Children

Lane's face slightly changed upon hearing this. "She's dead?"

Yanis nodded. "In the restroom."

Lane glanced at Andrew, took out his phone to call the police.

At this moment, Andrew, holding the child, broke through the crowd and tried to run.

Lane reacted quickly, stepping forward and restraining Andrew. Making sure not to harm the child, Lane

pushed Andrew against a nearby pillar and firmly held onto the blanket wrapped around the baby. He

spoke in a deep voice, "Give me the child!"

Andrew, of course, wouldn't easily give in. He even disregarded the child's safety and forcefully pushed

Lane away, rushing towards the exit.

Andrew didn't care about the child's well-being, but Lane couldn't ignore it. When Andrew pushed him

with force, Lane didn't resist, allowing Andrew to successfully escape through the door.

Because Andrew was holding the child, the security guard couldn't take immediate action and could

only surround him.

Yanis, watching Andrew's reaction, suddenly thought of Aunt Rivers and discreetly took out her phone

to dial Aunt Rivers' number.

The phone rang for a long time before Aunt Rivers finally answered. "Miss Thompson?" Aunt Rivers' This content provided by N(o)velDrama].[Org.

voice came through the phone.

Yanis replied in a low voice and asked, "Aunt Rivers, where are you right now?"

Aunt Rivers responded, "I'm on my way to the hospital. I cooked some soup for Nancy at home and

brought it over. Dr. Watson said she could have some soup today."

Aunt Rivers sounded very cheerful in the phone call, perhaps because both Nancy and the child's

conditions had improved.

Yanis, unsure of how to tell Aunt Rivers that Andrew had killed Nancy, listened to her words but didn't

know how to respond.

"Miss Thompson, do you have something to tell me? Is it about the divorce between Group Captain

and Nancy?" Aunt Rivers proactively asked when Yanis remained silent for a while.

Yanis glanced at Andrew, who was surrounded by security guards and onlookers, and whispered, "No."

"Is it something else? Is it about Group Captain or Nancy?" Aunt Rivers' voice became noticeably

anxious.

Yanis gathered her emotions before speaking, "Aunt Rivers, Nancy is dead."

Upon hearing this, a loud crashing sound came from the other end of the phone, followed by the sound

of car horns blaring.

Yanis's heart tightened. "Aunt Rivers, are you okay?"

After a long pause, Aunt Rivers' voice finally came through the phone again. "Miss Thompson, what did

you just say?"

Yanis didn't immediately answer Aunt Rivers' question but asked, "Aunt Rivers, are you driving right

now?"

Aunt Rivers's voice trembled. "Miss Thompson, you just said... said Nancy... What happened to

Nancy?"

"She's dead. She died in the restroom of her hospital room," Yanis said and fell silent for a few seconds

before continuing, "Where are you? Shall I come and pick you up?"

"I... I'm about to reach the hospital at the next intersection," Aunt Rivers replied, then asked in a low

voice, "And the child? Where's Group Captain?"

"He... He was about to leave with the child. We couldn't stop him for fear of hurting the child," Yanis

explained.

Upon hearing Yanis's words, Aunt Rivers anxiously said, "Miss Thompson, could you please hand the

phone to Group Captain? I want to talk to him."

Yanis hesitated but agreed. "Alright, Aunt Rivers, please wait a moment."

After saying that, Yanis held up the phone and walked out of the crowd, stopping three steps away from

Andrew. She extended the phone towards him. "Aunt Rivers is on the line."

Andrew's expression changed as he heard Yanis's words. "Why are you calling her?" His voice was

loud, and he yelled at Yanis.

Yanis handed the phone to Andrew once again. "Aunt Rivers wants to talk to you. She has something

to say."

Seeing that Andrew showed no intention of taking the phone, Yanis activated the speakerphone. "Aunt

Rivers, go ahead. He can hear you."

Aunt Rivers spoke directly. "Group Captain, what are you planning? If anything happens to the child, I

won't be able to live either. Do you want to see everyone related to you die before you find peace?"

"Mom... That bitch Nancy... She wants to divorce me!" Andrew shouted into the phone. "She actually

wants to divorce me! She can't even have children! Why does she have the right to divorce me? Why?"

"Andrew, it's you who can't conceive! Not Nancy!" Aunt Rivers' voice came through the phone.

When Andrew heard Aunt Rivers' words, he froze in place. "That's impossible!"

Aunt Rivers continued, "I deceived both you and Nancy! I lied to you both!"

Andrew's face turned extremely embarrassed upon hearing Aunt Rivers' words.

When Andrew least expected it, Lane stepped forward and snatched the child from Andrew's arms,

then pulled Yanis back forcefully.

The security guard standing nearby quickly approached and pinned Andrew down to the ground.

As Andrew was being pinned to the ground, he kept shouting desperately, "It's impossible! This can't be

true! How could I be infertile?!"

Andrew's voice echoed through the hospital lobby.

Yanis glanced at Andrew, who was being held down by the security guard, then turned to Lane. "Did

you call the police?"

Lane shook his head. "Not yet."

Saying that, Lane handed the child to Yanis. "I'll call the police."

Yanis reached out and took the child from Lane's arms. "I'll hold the child for now and go upstairs to

find Dr. Watson."

Lane agreed with a nod and immediately made the call.

Yanis took the child directly to Dr. Watson's office.

As Yanis entered, Dr. Watson had just finished giving some instructions to a pregnant woman. Seeing

Yanis, she was somewhat surprised. "This child..."

"It's Nancy's." Yanis approached and held the child in front of Dr. Watson. "Dr. Watson, could you look

after the child for a while?"

"What about the child's parents? And isn't the grandmother still at the hospital?" Dr. Watson asked.

Yanis spoke softly, "Nancy is dead."

Upon hearing Yanis' words, Dr. Watson abruptly stood up from her chair. "What happened? When did it

happen? Why didn't I receive any news about this?"

Regardless of how Nancy died, she was Dr. Watson's patient, under her care. Now, something

happened without Dr. Watson's knowledge, and she would have to take some responsibility.

Yanis naturally sensed Dr. Watson's concern and whispered, "This has nothing to do with you. It's not

your responsibility."

"But..."

"She was strangled to death by Andrew," Yanis interrupted Dr. Watson in a hushed voice before she

could finish her sentence.
