Sworn Enemy Novel 39
Henry pointed to his abs, then his face. "I'd sit at the entrance, pretending to be a statue. Then, customers would come flooding in." Sonya laughed, picturing the scene.
I'm sorry. You must have suffered a lot." She feigned sympathy.
Henry nodded. "I did."
"But you overcame it."
Yeah."
Sonya looked down at her
noodles. "There's too
much. I can't finish it."
""Eat more."
She couldn't finish it. Henry took the bowl and ate the rest.
"What are we doing today?" Sonya asked, helping him clean the kitchen. Previously, she'd done everything alone. Now, Henry shared the chores. "Getting our marriage license."
Sonya blinked."Today?"
Henry looked at her, a deep smile in his eyes. "From the moment you agreed to marry me, you couldn't back out."
They went upstairs to change. Henry emerged from the closet in a white shirt, looking princely. black suit jacket added a touch of regal authority. Sonya was captivated until he kissed her and pushed her onto the bed. She begged him to stop.
He finally released her, allowing her to change.
Sonya put on a white dress, looked at herself in the mirror, and started applying makeup. She didn't usually wear makeup, but
makeup, but she wanted to look her best for Henry.
They went to the civil affairs bureau, and when the official stamp was placed on their marriage certificate, Sonya's heart settled. She was married to Henry. It had been a risky decision, but so far, it felt right.
In the car, Sonya looked at her marriage certificate. She'd gone from being alone to being Henry's wife. He was now the most important person in her life.
"Mr. Sullivan, Ms. Ella, congratulations!" Mr. Givens said happily.
Sonya thanked him and looked at Henry, who was smiling at her.
"Why are you staring at me?"
Henry pulled her into his arms and kissed her."Let's stay home today."
"Okay."
He whispered in her ear, "At home... in bed."
Sonya blushed and playfully punched him. He hugged her tighter and laughed. "What's so funny?"

Sonya rested her head on his chest. After a moment, she said, "We're married now."
"Yes."
"I'll accept divorce, but not betrayal."
Henry lifted her chin, his eyes narrowed, then nibbled her lower lip.
"I won't. I promise."
"Me neither. I promise."noveldrama
Back home, Henry pulled her upstairs to change, saying he'd take her out for dinner. Sonya changed into jeans and a cardigan. Seeing Henry still in the closet, she went to take out the trash. She encountered Julian Jennings and Seraphina West arguing.
"This

request
is
SO
hard
fulfill?" to
Seraphina
said West
angrily.
"I contacted the buyer of the SeaCloud Castle. They've already signed a contract. If you're unhappy, we can choose another venue. You liked island weddings, right? Let's do a resort, Julian Jennings said, frustrated. "I don't want to be second best. Otherwise, it's the island..."
Seraphina West saw Sonya and smiled brightly.
"Sonya, what a coincidence! Julian and I are discussing venues. What do you think?"
Sonya smirked."Okay."
"SeaCloud Castle. Have you heard of it?"
Sonya gasped, feigning surprise."Of course! When your fiancé was my boyfriend, I told him I wanted a castle wedding, at Sea Cloud Castle, if possible."
She looked envious. "You're getting married at SeaCloud Castle? That's amazing!"
Seraphina West basked in her envy.
"Yes, we are. You have to come."
"Of course," Sonya said.
Seraphina West smiled. "Let's book SeaCloud Castle."
Julian Jennings breathed a sigh of relief, then saw the marks on Sonya's neck. He stiffened.
"You... you have a boyfriend?"
Sonya laughed. "What's it to you?"
"I'm worried you're with the wrong person."
"My judgment was terrible. I was blind for eight years."
She glared at him and walked away.

Henry came downstairs. He was wearing dark blue pants and a light gray sweatshirt. He looked clean-cut and sun-kissed, like a college student. He seemed to have many sides. "Good. Now we're both college students," he
he said,
said, approving of her outfit.
"College students?" Sonya was puzzled.
"Taking you to a college student's favorite restaurant."
He lifted her onto the shoe rack. She gasped, hands on his shoulders. He kissed her.
"Let me put on your shoes."
"I can do it..."
Before she finished, he knelt down and put on her sneakers.
"Is this a wedding day perk?" she joked.
Henry kissed her hand. "This is your 'married to me' perk. Every day."
They left without Mr. Givens. Henry drove. After half an hour, they stopped in an alley behind MIT. The alley was too narrow for the car.
They walked in. Sonya knew this area well; she'd been a student here for eight years.
"You didn't go to MIT, did you?"
With his looks, he would have been famous on campus.
"No, I went to university abroad."
Sonya was still puzzled."But you seem very familiar with this area."
Henry smiled. "When I was on holiday, I'd hang out here. After work, I'd usually stay in an apartment near the office. Otherwise, I'd stay here. Occasionally, I'd go to the villa." That explained why she'd never met him at the villa. Sonya looked at the old, dilapidated buildings.
"Here we are," Henry pointed."My brother's restaurant.
Sonya looked in the direction he indicated: a small eatery called "Lucky Restaurant." The world was incredibly small.
