Pursuing My Ex Wife in Full Blooming Spring

Chapter 234

Chapter 234

Scott had one hand in his pocket and his phone in the other. His gaze was fixated on the front, but he walked slow and steady as though to keep up with Naomi. The two of them walked side-by-side in perfect synchrony.

Although Naomi was staring at him, he did not seem to notice. Seeing that he did not turn around, Naomi called out his name, "Scott."

However, at that exact moment, the door of a nearby building flew open. A group of people spilled out onto the streets, bringing with them the noise and bustle from inside the building, which drowned out Naomi's voice entirely.

Naomi glanced at them. The chattering people's voices echoed through the entire street. She knew Scott would not hear her if she continued calling him.

She glanced at his sleeve, then reached out and gently tugged on it.

Scott froze in his steps.

An unreadable expression crossed his face.

The truth was, he had heard her calling him; he was not deaf, after all, but he had deliberately pretended he did not hear her and ignored her.

He had secretly hoped for her to call him again so that he could hear his name coming out of her mouth or do something else to get his attention.

All of a sudden…

He felt someone tug on his sleeve. Although Naomi did not touch him directly, he could still feel the warmth on her skin against his, as though the heat from her body spread right through her fingertips

and into his shirt.

His heart leaped in his chest, and then it began to race.

Naomi had something to say to him, but she did not expect him to stop all of a sudden as though something was wrong. She paused, then instinctively let go of his sleeve. She finally realized how inappropriate it was of her to do this.

She instinctively took a step away to put some distance between her and Scott. The sensation of her fingers on his sleeve disappeared.

Scott turned to stare at her.

Just a moment before, they were less than a foot away from each other, in arm's reach. However, he realized that the distance between him and Naomi had increased.

His gaze landed on her clearly uneasy face. "What's wrong?"

Although it was a question, it sounded like a statement.

Naomi stared back at him and asked, "What time is your flight?"

She had overheard his conversation with Jay and kept it in her mind for the entire day. She thought he would have left by now, but he did not, and even though it was already evening, Scott made no indication of leaving at all. Naomi was a little concerned. She did not want him to waste any precious time he had staying here when he had work to take care of.

If his flight were soon, she would volunteer to go back to the hotel with him to help him pack his bags as a form of thank you for all his help.

Scott stared at her crystal clear eyes and replied, "12:15 a.m."

Naomi froze.

12:15 am? Midnight?

Naomi glanced at the time on her phone. It was 7:10 p.m., and his flight was in five hours.

However, she had concluded it would take two hours to go to the airport, check-in, and immigration check. That meant that he had three hours before he needed to leave. He had more than enough time to pack, but it was rather a late flight he had to catch.

Naomi did not know whether Scott had any other plans after this. So, after some thought, she said, "Well, if you need to catch up on some work, you can do so. I'll go back to the hotel to help you pack." Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.

She looked earnest as she said that, but there was a hint of distance and hostility in them. She was not at all concerned about Scott, but on the contrary, he kept feeling that she wanted to push him away.

"I'm not in any rush," Scott replied.

With that, he turned around and continued on his way, leaving Naomi standing there in puzzlement.
