Chapter 1735
It was just another laid-back morning.
Sophie didn't roll out of bed until noon, cozying up even more against Colby, clearly not ready to face the day.
"Lunch is ready, you little sleepyhead," Colby teased, gently tousling her hair.
Instead of getting up, Sophie clung tighter to him. "I don't wanna get up... just a few more minutes."
When they first landed on this island, Sophie was all about that disciplined life.
She'd pop out of bed at eight, ready to catch the ocean views with Colby, binge-watch their favorite shows, sneak in some cuddles, and hit the villa's gym. They'd game, cook up a storm, and try out new recipes together. But soon enough, their sleep routine went completely off the rails.
With the calm nights and just the two of them around, it was easy to lose track of time and get wrapped up in each other.
Colby would keep her tangled up with him for hours, which led to some serious sleeping in.
Still, those days were pure bliss, filled with easygoing joy.
Outside, Max trotted in, holding his dog bowl in his mouth. His big, fluffy face was adorable, but his eyes clearly said he was done waiting.
With lunch happening later and later, Max had started skipping breakfast, choosing to join Sophie and Colby for lunch instead.
Seeing Max finally got Sophie moving. "Did you not feed Max yet?"
"He likes it when Mom feeds him lunch," Colby admitted with a playful sigh.
Max wasn't short on love for Colby; he adored him. But when it came down to favorites, Sophie was still his number one.
"My sweet boy, time for some grub."
Sophie got up and filled Max's bowl with kibble and a few treats, making his tail wag like crazy.
Sophie then headed to the bathroom, where Colby had already set out her toothpaste and toiletries.
After brushing her teeth and washing her face, she breezed through her skincare routine.
Face mask on, Sophie made her way downstairs, drawn by the delicious smell of lunch.

She mulled it over, then said, "I think it's important to be there for her."
"Really?" Colby asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Yeah, I could pick up a few things, and expecting moms need all the support they can get."
"You mean expecting moms in general, not just Jenna, right?"

Silence hung in the air for a moment.
Finally, Sophie chuckled, "That's so Jenna."
She turned to Colby, curious, "Did Jenna explain why?"
"She did," Colby answered casually. "She said she wants to feel that legendary level of pain for herself."
Sophie's face was a mix of admiration and disbelief. "What's Adler's take on it?"
"Adler's not on board. He doesn't see the point in going through that if you don't have to."
"And what's the verdict?"
"He couldn't sway Jenna."
What do you think?
