Chapter 287

In the hospital meeting room, sitting across from Sebastian, were Ethan, Joanna’s father, Harriet, Joanna’s mother, and Logan, who arrived late.

It was evident how significant Joanna’s situation was for the Lowell family. Despite their busy schedules, all three made it to the hospital to show their support.

Sebastian carefully examined Joanna’s educational background and glanced meaningfully at the three Lowells present. “Ms. Lowell’s academic…”

Before Sebastian could finish his sentence, Harriet interrupted firmly, “Jo’s academic qualifications are genuine. There is no way that they are fake.”

“Yes, but someone has reported that Joanna took someone else’s spot in medical school.” Sebastian’s expression turned complicated. Occupying another person’s place in school was a grave issue. It was a criminal offense.

Ethan’s expression darkened even further. “Who reported this? Isn’t this slander against Joanna?”

Sebastian glanced at Ethan, flashing an apologetic smile. “Mr. Lowell, rest assured. We’re still investigating the issue.”

Harriet was also furious. She slammed the table and exclaimed, “Who reported this? Joanna’s still in the hospital. How dare they slander her like this?”

Sebastian replied, “It was an anonymous report.”

“Are you seriously considering suspending Joanna based on an anonymous report? It hasn’t even been proven yet. We can’t just take it as the truth without any verification.” Harriet’s frustration only

grew upon hearing this.

Logan remained silent as Ethan and Harriet argued harshly, repeatedly challenging Sebastian. Sebastian tried to speak up but was constantly interrupted.

Logan suddenly asked in the quiet meeting room, “Did Millie write this anonymous report?”

Suddenly, the meeting room door opened, and Sebastian stood up. The Lowells turned their heads and saw Millie standing there.

Millie looked neat in her casual black–and–white outfit, her hair pulled back into a sleek ponytail. She knew that she would definitely be accused.

She stared directly into Logan’s eyes and declared firmly, “I didn’t write it.”

Harriet stood up abruptly and pointed directly at Millie, yelling, “Why should we trust you? It appears that you’re simply jealous of Jo!”

Millie frowned and pondered, “What is it that I should be jealous of? Jealous of Joanna’s incompetence and fragility?”

Harriet was furious and scolded, “Millie, you divorced Winston because you two don’t get along. You can’t keep Winston, so what does Jo have to do with it? If you can’t have Winston, you want to hurt Jo instead. Your behavior is disgraceful and shameless.”

Millie was left speechless. Harriet didn’t like her Initially. She had finally found the perfect outlet for her

anger at that moment.

She stated, “I came here just to clarify that I didn’t report her.”

Harriet yelled, “It has to be you! You’re the only one who’s extremely jealous of Jo.”

“Mrs. Lowell, please be more reasonable. Why should I be jealous of her? If I were truly jealous, I wouldn’t have…” given her the quota. She thought these words but didn’t speak them aloud.

Then, she calmly glanced at Harriet and whispered, “I’m sure you know how she got into medical school. Not only are you all ungrateful, but you’re also accusing me. This is so disgusting ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .

Millie looked at them coldly but refrained from speaking her mind. She chose to show them respect due to their status.

At that moment, Harriet was feeling extremely anxious

Ethan grabbed her arm and urged her to stay silent when she was on the verge of speaking up. It was indeed Millie who sacrificed her place for Joanna so that she could enroll in medical school.

What the whistleblower said was actually true.
