“Who else other than you could have done it?” Harriet’s face reddened in anger. As a mother, she felt horrible to see her daughter’s career derailed. She was riddled with guilt for failing to protect Joanna.

Millie shot a look at Harriet and warned her, “Mrs. Lowell, do not try me.”

Just as Joanna had the backing of the Lowells, she also had the Caldwells‘ support. There was no guarantee that the Lowells could get out of this unhurt.

Millie remained silent. She wondered who exactly lacked morals in this situation.

“Mrs. Lowell, the hospital will make our decision on this matter. Please leave if you don’t have anything else,” Sebastian reminded Harriet.

Millie swept her gaze past Harriet before leaving the room. Harriet quickly hurried after her, while Ethan insisted on arguing with Sebastian.

Logan worried that Harriet might stir up trouble after noticing that she went after Millie. Hence, he had no choice but to follow suit.

As expected, Harriet stopped Millie from leaving.

“Millie Caldwell!” she bellowed haughtily as though Millie had been proven guilty.

“Please. Millie showed Harriet respect, but it was too bad Harriet didn’t reciprocate the gesture.

“Was it your doing? If you admit to it now, our family will let this slide,” Harriet doubted Millie’s innocence.

Millie, who nearly ran out of patience, took a jab at Harriet. “Mrs. Lowell, I recommend that you get your brains checked.”

Didn’t she clearly announce that she had nothing to do with Joanna’s incident?

Harriet curled her fist while glaring at Millie. She grabbed Millie’s arm and raised her hand to slap Millie when the latter tried to leave.
