Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance

Chapter 277

Chapter 277

Andre whispered into his wife's ear, "Sleepyhead, time to rise and shine. Gift card time!" With that, he

gave her earlobe a quick peck. He couldn't quite grasp why he was so head over heels for her, but he

was.

The moment she heard the words "gift cards", she was up like a shot. "Are we talking big bucks here?"

She asked, glancing at her husband.

Andre replied, "Well, they're handpicked by me, what do you think?"

She was not the kind to get spooked by a gun to her head but if gift cards coming her way, Mia's only

ask was, "Throw ‘em at me, the more the merrier.!"

She sat up, clutching the duvet, reaching out for the cards, "Hand them over."

Andre said, "Give me a kiss first."

Mia gave him a look. If it wasn't for the gift cards, she wouldn’t kiss him. But for money, she could play

along.

Hansen was also on the gift card mission, "We should give more to our daughter, and our son's wife,

she's our daughter too. A bit for Leo, Bruce, and Andre should do. Don't forget."

The butler was busy jotting down names on each card, "Don't you worry, Mr. Hansen. All set."

A rare scene unfolded in the Cedillo family's living room that morning.

"Mia, here’s a gift card from your dad. Merry Christmas! Give me a grandchild this year, will you?"

"Mia, this is from your brother and me. Merry Christmas! Be good with Andre."

"Mia, this is for you from me. Merry Christmas! We are all expecting your babies."

"Mia, this is from your husband."

...

Mia looked at the gift cards in her hands, her lips curling into a smile.

She heard she was due for more gift cards. The newlyweds had to visit all their relatives over the year.

First thing in the morning, Andre took Mia on their rounds.

She switched to a big handbag. It was roomy and had no zippers. "That way, when people give me

giftcards, I can pretend to refuse while they slip them in." Mia said slyly.

Andre looked at his wife, her greediness was endearing, "Have a kid, and they’ll bring gifts for our son.

That’s way more than Christmas gift cards. And you get to keep all the money and presents."

Mia could already see herself with her child’s presents.

"Back at the old house, they’ll notice you taking our son's gifts and money. But if we move to NôvelDrama.Org owns this.

Maplewood Estates, I can cover for you. So, how about it?" Andre said.

"Sounds good. Wait, you're tricking me!" Mia nodded, then realized she was being played.

Andre said, "Too late, you agreed."

"You tricked me!" Mia said.

Andre was in a good mood, "Mia, think about it. The kid won't know if you take his money. But if you

take it secretly from the old house, our father, brother, sister-in-law, and the nosy Molly and Leo will

know. There are no absolute secrets in the world, but you need to learn to discern what can be made

public and what needs to be kept confidential. Come with me to Maplewood Estates, and I’ll cover for

you. I'll even be your partner in crime, helping you take our son's money."

Mia was tempted again.

This time, she didn’t say it out loud. She was quietly planning how to take her son's money. Perhaps

Andre, the successful man, was too persuasive. Mia had forgotten she didn't even have a son yet.

She spent the whole day collecting gift cards. Coming home, Mia was all giggles. She dumped all the

gift cards from her handbag onto the couch in the living room, "Molly, Leo, come help me count. I can't

keep up."

She made another run and came back with even more gift cards, "There's still some in the car."

Molly went to help.

Naomi saw her three kids huddled on the floor, opening gift cards, all excited. She chuckled and didn’t

intervene.

Mia was busy calculating the gift cards, "Five hundred, eight hundred, plus a thousand."

Molly jotted it all down, Leo said, "That's five grand already."

Mia put them aside and kept going.

When Naomi appeared in the living room, she said, "Mia, Molly, Leo, time for dinner."

"Not yet, we are still counting the money." Mia said.

Andre was also ignored by his wife. He laughed and told the kitchen to save some food for them.

After counting the money, Mia was looking at her full safe, caressing the gift cards, "Marriage is a

money-maker. I feel like getting married again this year." Molly was intrigued, "I want to get married

too."

Then, they took the safe to the dining room, making plans about how to spend the money while they

ate.

When they got back to their room that night, Mia freshened up and sat at her dressing table, finally

ready to open her husband’s special gift card. Mia held the card with reverence, gave the envelope a

kiss, and opened it.

"Empty?" Mia looked at the blank check. She glared at her husband, "You gave Molly and Leo checks

worth a hundred grand. Why is mine blank?"

Andre handed her a pen, "Yours, darling, is for you to write down the number."

Mia swiftly took the pen, without hesitation, wrote a "1" in the ten million spot, followed by a string of

"0s".

"Honey, I want ten million." Mia said. She held up the check, her eyes were all sparkling, grinning from

ear to ear.

Andre responded, “My dear, you are quite bold."

He was relieved to be wealthy enough to give his wife what she wanted, "If you want ten million, you

shall have ten million."

Mia looked at the check in her hands, somewhat regretfully saying, "Why can the amount on this check

only go up to 'tens of millions'? If it could, I could've got a few tens of millions more."

Andre was once again at a loss for words.

"Oh shoot, I totally forgot." Mia regretted, "I should've written 99999999.99, but it can't be changed now,

just let it be."

Hearing her say this, Andre felt like she seemed a bit unsatisfied with this ten million? Andre suddenly

realized that if he didn't keep making money, he might not even be able to afford his wife's Christmas

gift in the future. No wonder men always complain about how they could hardly afford to keep their

wives after getting married.

Besides himself, probably no one else could afford to keep his wife.

"Go to sleep." He said.

Mia lay in her husband's arms with regret, and before falling asleep, she was still saying, "What a pity."

Spending the whole day receiving gift cards, and even receiving a particularly huge check before bed,

Mia dreamed of gift cards falling from the sky at night, and she simply couldn't grab them all.

Andre found out that what he was keeping was actually a money-hungry cat.
