The Girlboss Begs for Remarriage

Chapter 2277

Frank shrugged. "There's no harm in giving it a try, and Sally is onboard with us now-I'm sure she won't do anything out of line."

Seeing that Frank was so sure, Jada decided against stopping him.

Moreover, Frank was right on the money since Sally had made a lot of enemies. With everything she had been working so hard for now collapsing in itself, she would definitely not let harm come to her only protector.

Meanwhile, Frank put on the helmet.

His consciousness seemed to drift away right then, as if he had transcended beyond the material world, and yet whatever he saw was nothingness. It was not darkness that one would see when they close their eyes, however... there was simply nothing!noveldrama

Frank had no choice but to take off the helmet just then and shake his head at Jada.

Jada sighed in relief-it was a fruitless effort, but at least Frank was fine.

While they were sure that Sally would not try to hurt Frank, there was always an exception, and they would lose more than what they bargained for if Sally really tried to assassinate Frank.

"Mr. Frankton, Ms. Turin!" Aron Hampton rushed inside the office just then. "We have a problem!"

Jada scowled. "What, is our home being invaded by thugs again?"

Aron had no idea what he did to Jada and quickly apologized. "Please calm down, Ms. Turin-this isn't a personal affair. It's business... One of our partners has suddenly vanished. He's a supplier named Shaq Cletton.

"There's this project at the south side of town, and work has progressed to a critical juncture, but Shaq and his entire company bailed, with a large notice of ownership transfer pasted on the front door."

"What?!"

Jada would have doubted the story if it was not Aron.

What was the point? They would not have received the remaining payment for the raw materials, and such a business strategy was basically suicide!

"Got it. You can go." Jada dismissed

Aron nheless and called up Higo Soldi after "Find this person named Shaq Cletton. His departure is really unusual-be sure not to make waves, and tail him covertly even if you find him."

"Yes, ma'am." Higo nodded and left.

Alda was bemused, however. "It's a little strange, but did you have to send in real elites?"

Jada shrugged, as she could not agree. "My instincts tell me that this isn't as simple as it looks, and it's always better to be safe than sorry. Don't you agree, Ms. Ingram?"

Alda did not argue, as Jada was

too, so she had no reason to meddle.

Nheless, Higo returned in the afternoon, reporting, "We've got a hit. Shaq Cletton was seen taking his men to the old town. We will keep searching, but he's most definitely a lost cause."

Jada nodded, dismissed Higo, and turned to Frank. "It really sounds suspicious, Mr. Frankton. Should we start a citywide search?"

Frank smiled, shaking his head. "Let Jouri Yelin get on the case. Have you reached her yet, Alda?"

Alda smiled and nodded. "Don't worry-she said she's ready for orders anytime. But she's a little busy right now, so you'll have to wait until tomorrow to see her."

Frank nodded. "Got it."

In the evening, in Rudy's house in the old town, several black-clad men entered carrying a gunny sack, nodding at Rudy as they put it down and left. Rudy's thugs started toward it, but Rudy stopped them and opened the gunny sack by himself.

Inside was a girl, slightly chubby, but her skin was fair and she had her hair tied into twin buns. However, her eyes were fiery as she glared at Rudy.
