Chapter 30 High Council Alexander
The moment he strolled inside the High Council’s chamber, he knew something was wrong.
As predicted Victor and his beloved did not grace them with their presence. A telling sign.
Warning bells rang in his head. He mind linked his royal beta to call home.
Damn the consequences. He will step out of this meeting in a heartbeat to go home if his pack and queen was under threat. No one can stop him, not even the fucking council.
This group of people –with the exception of his parents and Esmeralda the High Priestess– were becoming more trouble than they’re worth. He had a mind to propose reshuffle soon and elect new members.
Everything is okay back home, sire. The queen luna is resting. Pack members are accounted for.
Thank you, beta.
Deep breaths. Calm down. His Queen was sleeping and she was okay. He listened to their pups’ heartbeats before he left them and they were healthy as can be.
Only two ancient vampire couples on the platform today. His parents sat beside them. The white witch in the middle, the other members were supernatural species of different kinds. The fairy couple glowed, listening to the Dragon King presenting the case.
Alexander hoped the admissible evidence they had will establish each and every element of their claims and any defenses that Victor has will be dismissed.
The sneaky vampire may have a lawyer here, which Alexander doubted.
“For my exhibit A, I present you the videotapes of rogues we capture during the raids. My secretary will hand you the transcripts of the interrogation.”
Everyone focused on the big screen. All stoic faces watched the scenes unfolding. He knew it all by heart for he was there.
The executioner.
All gave the same information. About a high ranking official, sending them instructions on what to do via email. Payments through couriers and online transactions. The necromancer’s father was the last one, he confirmed they met with Victor in person. The council member became cocky. He really thought he could get away with it.
“Exhibit B presents the legal documents we procured from our sources. The IP address on those emails and offshore bank accounts in Asia points to one name only. Victor Lemonte, a council member who we trusted to guide us Kings and yet he betrayed us. He betrayed the Alliance. His motive is to awaken the dark angel. Beloved High Council, we all know what becomes of us if that happens.”
Lucas gave them time to contemplate his words. All of them were shocked beyond belief but at least two couples were emotionless. It was noteworthy.
“So, on behalf of the Kings of the Supernatural alliance, I implore you to grant us justice by removing councilman Victor’s immunity.”
Murmurs reverberated around the chamber.
“Dragon King, can you provide us the names of your resources who were able to trace Victor’s personal information?” The Lycan narrowed his eyes to the ancient vampire. Councilman Rexin Fleming, from England. His beloved looked pained and uncomfortable. Why?
“I am afraid your request will not be possible councilman. We don’t want to put their lives in danger.” There was a subtle threat in Lucas’s words. If their men will be harmed in any way there will be hell to pay.
The dragon king may seem harmless in his traditional barrister’s attire nonetheless he was a powerful beast first and foremost.
“I understand, dragon king. Give us time to convene.”
“Time is of the essence, Councilman Rexin. We need to act now.” Alexander could sense his friend’s agitation. He will not be delayed.
Victor may have already left the country while this asshole requested more time to ponder.
“My mate and I vote in your favor.” The former Lycan King, his father stated with confidence.
“And I,” The white witch seconded. Voice firm and haughty.
“My vote is yes.”
“Mine as well.”
“Yes.”
“Our votes are yes.” The fairy couples.
All in all eighty percent of the total members of the High Council had voted in their favor.
Fuck! They won. Victor is a dead man.
***
The men are in position, sire.
Copy that. Spare those who will surrender, beta.
Yes, sir. Oliver is with me, he can order them to do that.
One warning. Stay safe.
In his lycan form, he ran through the forest connecting to a remote village in Brasov, where Victor’s ancient castle was located.
Beside him was Xavier in his vampire beast ducking and jumping through fallen trees.
Overhead was the Dragons, Lucas in the middle of his two commanders.
The Demon King was not with them. He and his men covered the south end of the land.
They will make it to the clearing in about ten minutes.
This land was gold to the vampire kingdom. One of the oldest seats of power. The Castle belonged once to Count Dracula. A once-famous leader who now rested in bliss in his secret vault with his beloved. Never to reawaken.
He howled and growled, smelling rogues. Hundreds of them. Why were they here?
Shouts and screams of fighting reverberated around them. He snarled and ran faster.
His mammoth beast didn’t pause for a second upon reaching the battlefield, he plunged high in the air and landed at the backs of the rogues, his muscled weight broke their spines rending them useless in an instant.
He turned to witness Xavier fight off… what the fuck were those species? He roared and ran towards his friend, intercepting the hordes of fuckers, biting and scratching with his deadly claws. Slicing their hideous bodies like butter. Greenish liquid dripped from the bodies, soaking the dried cold ground. The air turned musky with the acidic scent.
Alexander had a strong stomach, a veteran of wars, he never flinched from hideous and appalling gores but before him was an exception. His stomach churned from the smell. He clenched his teeth and continued to fight. More were coming.
Swords and knives slice through his fur. He ignored it. The pain was bearable and he healed quickly.
Where were Victor’s people? The women and children? His men. All he saw were renegades and rogues. And these greenish massive creatures that had not been seen in centuries. He was not even aware of their existence let alone what to name them.
Kill them, human!
Right.
Hot air of smoke and deadly flames glided to his left, roasting more than one-fourth of the enemies.
Fuck! Dragon King.
The fire breathing beast flew past him, blowing deadly gusts of flames on a dark portal where the creatures were emerging.
This was a real Lord Of the Rings shit right here. Or Game of Thrones.
Whatever.
Alexander continued to move on instinct akin to what he does in battles. His lycan taking over completely until he killed and maimed every enemy he encountered.
The rage and battle went on and one until silence and smoke filled the air. All around him was blood and gore. Enemies were torn to pieces.
Chests heaving and fur-covered in grim and greenish blood, he paused at the lull in the air. Sniffing for more danger. His lycan realizing it was safe, he shifted back to his human form.
Lucas has landed beside him. Xavier and Lucifer appeared from the treeline.
Some of their men received medical attention from severe injuries on the makeshift tables.
“What the fuck!?” Lucifer growled, his demonic eyes examined the dead creatures.
“What?” They all looked at him.
“Those fuckers are foot soldiers of the underworld. They can only be summoned by a powerful master or the dark angel himself.” The demon explained. Disgust was written all over his face.Content is © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.
-Sire, Oliver, and I found something at the castle. You must come quickly.-
-We will be right there.-
“They found something important. Let’s go.” Victor was nowhere to be found. He must be hiding somewhere in the fortress.

His heart clenched at the sight before him. Women and children tied from the ceiling of the sunroom. All dead.
The lady of the Castle, Victor’s beloved, was beyond recognition. Xavier was filled with grief. These were his people.
The vampire king approached the dead lady, Lucille. His sharp nails graze her cheek, a drop of blood fell on his digits. He rubbed it on his parted lips and his eyes darkened with fury. The gruesome events leading to this moment became clear to him.
“He sacrificed Lady Lucille and these innocent vampires to call the creatures we fought,” Xavier stated in anguished.
“But that is his beloved, ” Lucas asked, bewildered. They all were. If a vampire lost his beloved he might as well be dead too. Their souls were intertwined. One cannot live without the other. A vampire can only go to eternal rest with a beloved.
Xavier shook his head. “Lady Lucille was not his beloved. He placed her under a witch’s spell to claim her and took advantage of the opportunity. Victor is mine. I will chop him to pieces when I get my hands on him.”
Alexander was about to answer him when Oliver came back running.
“My Kings, we found the men!”
He knew shit had just started. And he was expecting more to come. The fucker was still out there.
When they get their hands on Victor…
Let’s just say it won’t be pretty.
