The Persistent CEO Wants A Baby

Diana walked into Wayne’s family home. They were still at the family house and had just finished dinner an hour ago before she went to talk with Damon. Wayne said they’d be leaving tomorrow as he didn’t make plans for them staying there for more than a day.

“You’re back?” Wayne asked as he had just walked out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around his body as he looks at Diana.

“Yes..” Diana said and went to sat on the bed. She couldn’t wait to return to New York, meeting Damon here was kind of unexpected and made her uncomfortable.

Diana wondered what could’ve have happened now if she and Damon had had a very bad relationship that they couldn’t stand each other?

“You never told me how you get to know my Brother. Damon..” Wayne said and Diana looked at him, her eyes betraying her as she looks away.

“You should put on your clothes. I’m going to take my bath too.” Diana stood up and deliberately walked into the bathroom, but come back soon after to pick up a towel from the wardrobe and then her phone.

Wayne didn’t say anything but he just stood and watched her. He wasn’t worried that she pushed the conversation away, cause he know that she’s surely going to tell him about it whenever she’s ready. Another thing she loves and adore about her, she never hide anything from him.

Once inside the bathroom. Diana took her phone out and out a call across Tihana. The only one she knows she can confide on.

“Hey… I called you earlier but you seem busy. How did it go?” Diana could feel the excitement in Tihana’s voice.

“They’re nice. But guess who I meet here.”

“Guessing again?!” Tihana sighed at the end and breathed down then finally told Diana that she had no idea who she’d meet over at Wayne’s family home.

“Damon. Damon Salvatore ”

There was silence at Tihana’s end for a while before she finally replied. “Your Ex?”.

“Yes. Turns out he’s Wayne’s older brother.”

“Oh My Goodness!”

Tihana and Diana talked for quite a really long time, with Tihana encouraging her that she needed to tell Wayne about it and not hide it from him as she had intended. It’s be messed up if Wayne was to find out about this on his own.

When the call was over, Diana hurriedly took her bath and came out of the bathroom to find out that Wayne wasn’t there. She wondered where he could have gone to, probably downstairs to pick up something?

She proceeded to the closet and pick out Wayne’s shirt that she saw there and then put it on. She walked over to the bed and sat, waiting anxiously for Wayne.

Wayne knocked on Damon’s door and heard him say he’s coming. The door was opened seconds later and Wayne could see the surprise on his face that clearly says he wasn’t expecting him.

“Can I come in?” Wayne asked and Damon sighed, nods and pave way for him to enter. Wayne entered the bedroom and look around. Not a lot of things had changed.

Damon isn’t the type that make lot of changes, most times… You’d see him the exact place you’ve left him. Just like that.

“I saw you talking with Diana and it seems you both had known each other for long?” Wayne asked and turn to face Damon, folding him arm on his chest.

“Yeah…” Damon replied plainly and went to sit on the bed, he could feel Wayne’s eyes on his each step..

“How?”

“Don’t you think it’d be better to ask her about that? Why will you be asking me when she could easily tell you?”.

“Well….” Wayne stopped when he noticed he had no valid reason to give him. So he sighed and stare at Damon for a short while before turning and leaving the room.

Damon and Wayne hadn’t had the best brothers relationship. Till date, they had never gotten along. Not that they don’t both effort, guess it’s just the way they’re not. Not meant to have that brothers bond.

“Where did you go?” Diana questioned and stood up immediately she saw Wayne walk in.

If Wayne had stared for another minute out, Diana could be so much asleep right now. She was feeling sleepy and had just wanted to go to bed immediately but she needed to talk to Wayne just like Tihana had suggested.

“Damon’s room. You wouldn’t tell me what happened so I went to find out from him.” Diana’s eyes widened.

“I never said I wouldn’t tell! I just needed a bath. So, did Damon say anything?” Wayne looked at her and shake his head negatively as he walked to sit next to her on bed..

“Are you gonna tell me then?”

“Damon… He was my highschool sweetheart and my best friend.”

“Oh..” Wayne mouthed and while Diana waited to hear him say something else, Wayne didn’t.

“Is that all you can say?”

“That my brother is your Ex?” Diana didn’t say anything.

“We will be going back to New York tomorrow. You should get some sleep, I need one too.” Wayne said and climb on the bed , covering himself with a duvet.

Diana stare at him and sigh, then went to lay on the other side of the bed. That night, Diana and Wayne slept without facing each other.

Early the next morning, they both went down to the airport.

“Grandfather. Why did you send for me so early?” Aiden asked as he walked into the sitting room where his grandfather was sitting and it was obvious he was waiting for him.

“Cause I need to tell you something.” He returned, stretching his hand and taking the glass of juice on the side table.

Aiden sat opposite him and waited for him to drop back the glass which he did after.

“I’ll be retiring.” Grandfather said.

He watched Aiden’s expression kneely and just as he had expected, it has shock and surprise written all over.

“Why? You’re not yet 70!”

“I’m 68.. not too far from 70. Besides, I need to rest. I have you and now, I’m sure you can handle everything on your own without needing my guide.”

“This is unexpected Grandfather. Four companies?! You know I’ve been more focused on just three. You write mostly on the fourth one.”

“Which is why I have my manager gather some helpful guide for you, that way… You won’t have to do lot of work trying to fit in. You’ve been doing great Aiden, I’m sure you’ll pull through.”

Aiden didn’t say a word… and just stare at him blankly.
