Chapter 745

"Just some little things. Don't come too close. The packaging is dirty." Bernard walked away from her and took the packages into the study.

Hera frowned. She noticed that he had been acting out of character recently. He became more cautious around her than before and seemed to avoid her at night. Often, before bedtime, he would go to the study to work or do something.

She followed him to the study, watching him unpackage the boxes until he pulled out a baby bottle.

She was confused.

Then, he took out a breast pump.

She was utterly confused. "Why did you buy baby products?"

"You'll need them soon," replied Bernard casually.

For some reason, role-playing was the first thing that popped into her mind. This man had been refusing her for quite some time. Did he assume that she wanted to play something more unconventional after that?

She burst into a chuckle. "In your dreams."

This time, it was his turn to be confused.

Later at night, Hera thought that Bernard would play around with the baby products, but he surprisingly went to bed early! He slept as soon as he tucked himself in bed! Hera couldn't figure out what he was up to and slept.

In the middle of the night, she woke up because of the cold air conditioning. Still half- asleep, she noticed that the man, who normally liked to cuddle her while sleeping, was now keeping his distance from him.

She turned around only to find his back facing her. Bernard, who was scrolling his phone, noticed the sound and hurriedly put his phone down.

Pretending to be asleep, he scooted over and hugged her. Assuming that he was in dreamland, Hera closed her eyes and pretended to be asleep too.

Soon, he released her and turned to the other side, secretly picking his phone up. As he was engrossed in his phone, Hera quietly peeked at his phone screen. It turned out that he was searching for pregnancy precautions!

She asked, "Why are you searching for those?"

Her sudden voice scared him, and his phone landed on his face.

"Why are you awake?" He quickly put his phone aside.

She could tell that he was trying to hide something. "Who's pregnant?"

Hearing that, he was stunned momentarily. He then hugged her. "Aren't you pregnant?"

"Huh?" She was confused.

Since when was she pregnant? How could she not know?

Bernard blinked his eyes. "Huh?"

Did he guess wrongly, or was she still trying to keep it a secret from him?
